The Marriott Grand Chateau has a really nice layout - big villas, with kitchens(!), that can connect to other villas as well for additional space. (A 2 bedroom villa is basically a one bedroom connected to a one bedroom suite.) The place is nicely appointed, with tasteful decor throughout. The rooftop pool has some nice views, and a bar area for those so inclined. It's cheaper than the comparable MGM Signature (which doesn't come with kitchens, AFAIK).

That said, there's several massive flaws in the design of the place that knocked it down from a 5-star to a 3-star property:
1) The place is a timeshare hotel, and the Marriott staff will hound you relentlessly about buying a timeshare, even if you're just there on a business trip, using it as a normal hotel. They'll pretend to be calling about something else, too, which is unusually deceptive for a company like Marriott.
2) The road access is terrible. There's a little driveway that gets completely clogged by cars and taxis, and people will cross into opposing traffic to get around the clogs, and then THEY get stuck, and then traffic backs up onto the street, and it's just a total nightmare. It can take 10-15 minutes from getting in your cab to getting onto the main street. Which is a distance of like 30 yards, total.
3) The front desk staff were surprisingly rude and unhelpful. (Again, very unusual for a Marriott.) They'd look at you and just ignore you, even after you'd been standing there trying to get their attention for 15 minutes - and it's not like there was a line or anything.
4) You might have to call for linens three or four times before they bring more towels up. And you need towels because they don't change them, apparently, even if they're all on the ground.
5) The kitchens don't vent. Cook anything in your room, and you'll be smelling it for the rest of your trip.

This sounds sort of whiny in retrospect, but I stand by them all. I'm a pretty easygoing traveler (I spend a lot of time on the road for business trips like this), and it takes a lot to annoy me at a place, but these guys managed it.

This hotel is so close to the strip, it is practically on the strip! It is a three minute walk to the strip - closer than some strip hotels that are set so far back. Clean, Marriott quality, hotel. No casino, which is a plus in my eyes (if you want a casino, trust me, you won't have a problem finding one). Complimentary wifi which is a huge savings when other hotels charge a ridiculous fee per device. Kitchenette in studio room was great, with fridge, micro, and toaster. All dishes and cutlery provided. Hotel secure after 6:30 - you have to use room key to access floor. Valet parking only. A little slow at times but nothing crazy. Always can get cabs easily. However, you can walk everywhere easily because you are in a great location. The only negative is the pool. When people say it is tiny, that is an understatement. A hotel this size should have something much bigger. It was probably smaller than most backyard pools - no word of a lie. However don't let this hold you back as you can always go spend the day at a neighboring hotel. There is no restaurant on site - true. But there are hundreds within steps of the place. Would recommend this hotel to everyone.

Pros- Rooms and common areas are clean and very well maintained. Very good location just off the vegas strip. Friendly staff. Very good gym if you're into fitness. Great for family and couples if you're not into the gambling and party scene. Decent 24 hour store in lobby if you need snacks or personal items. Right across the street from Planet Hollywood's Miracle Mile with plenty of restaurants and shopping. Complimentary valet. Great views of Vegas from rooftop. Cons - Have to listen to the time share sales pitch via telephone upon arrival to your room. No restaurant on-site. Very small pool on rooftop. No self parking. This was my second time staying at the Grand Chateau and I would stay here again.

We stayed here from April 11-April 16. We were in a 3 bedroom suite, which is actually a 2 bedroom and a 1 bedroom. The party was my husband, myself, our two small children and my parents. It worked out perfectly. The hotel is in easy walking distance to the strip and is centrally located. Since I have small children (3 and 4), I wanted a non-gaming hotel. The rooms were extremely spacious with a full kitchen and washer / dryer. Anyone who has small children appreciates this. The staff was very friendly and more than happy to help with anything we needed. I had heard that the pool was quite small, but since we ended up having the coldest week in Las Vegas in years, we didn't use it. Also, there is no restaurant on property. We would have appreciated not having to go anywhere one of the nights we were there. Since my husband and I aren't the biggest gamblers, not having a casino as part of the hotel was not a problem, but I guess others would have an issue with this. Overall, we had a great experience at this property.

We own vacation property elsewhere so are familiar with this idea. You either get a room with a bed, sofa, fridge and microwave with some kitchen equipment or a unit with a full kitchen and separate bedroom. We were in the smaller room very similar to a regular hotel room. Everything was clean and nice but unless you like a hard mattress, this might not be the place for you. There is no restaurant on the property but they do have a 24 hour marketplace that sells more than just your usual snacks. Service was great. There is a small rooftop pool (think cruise ship) and lounging chairs.
Our room was on the 30th floor facing the strip. The first night we heard a lot of music but not on the 2nd night.
The hotel is right across the street from Miracle Mile shops and Planet Hollywood Casino. It is one block off the strip. Closest hotels on the strip are the Cosmopolitan, Just up the block is the Harley Davidson BBQ place. About another block away is the Bellagio with it's fountain show every 30 minutes.

Room Tip: If you want a quieter room, ask for one not facing the strip. You will miss the view though, if that is a higher priority for you.
