We usually visit Mon Ami Gabi for dinner whenever we visit Vegas. The ambience of the cafe coupled with the view of the fountains and of passing people is worth a visit. We sat inside, jsut off the patio which afforded a cooler yet engaging view of the fountains and passing people. We ordered a salad and melted goat cheese appetizers, and both were excellent. My wife ordered a well-done (butterflied) fillet with a merlot sauce with frites. It was delivered piping hot and exactly as ordered. Delicious was the verdict. I order a medium fillet with pepper sauce (and frites), but, incredibly I was delivered a medium prime rib with vegetables! No idea how the order was so screwed up. I simply accepted it, and it was good. The Chateauneuf do Pape, available by the glass, is outstanding if expensive. It is one of the few places that one can enjoy a Calvados (apple brandy) for dessert, and my wife enjoyed profiteroles, which were good but not up to Parisian standards.
