“GREAT VALUE, SERVICE, GREAT PRESENTATION ....”
Reviewed 12 June 2012

We took advantage of Hilton's Timeshare offer of two nights at one of there locations on the strip for $99.00. This is what you get for the $99.00.... A beautifully decorated studio, king bed, a built in fridge (with freezer), microwave, & bar sink. A/C was on which was a welcoming surprise as it was hitting the 90's. Check in was smooth, pool area was beautiful with an outside bar. Property has four pools (one is a secluded adult only pool for that great place to read a good book). They have a huge parking structure nearby. Self parking is $8.00 a day and Valet parking is $13.00 per day. On the first floor they have a fitness center, mini market and area to purchase quick meals, and enclosed lounge that had oversized sofas and pool tables. Second level had the Elite Lounge that is available to Elite Owners. They offer beverages and snacks in a key access area. Our presentation was very good and was given by Evan and the sales Mgr. was done by Alex. You get a lot for you buy in and both did an excellent job of showing us how this timeshare would fit into our lifestyle. After the presentation we were given a $100.00 certificate to be used toward a stay at a Hilton property (we chose Embassey Suites), a $50.00 voucher to be used at their property LVH that was across the way for food, gifts or beverages and a $15.00 gaming chip. Not bad for only $99.00. What we didn't like, was the location on the strip. Not convientient to the tram and it was in the older part of the strip. It was freeway (exit is Sahra). Great value.

Our 5 day stay was very enjoyable. Our King Suite was clean, the maid service prompt, very nice decor. The pool area was kept immaculate. Plenty of pool towels provided, great poolside bar service. We ate lunch here almost every day. Reasonable prices for delicious food. This is a great place to stay if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle because there is no inside casino, so you don't have any outside guests coming in. Small grocery on the pool level is very convenient. Negatives: and this in my opinion is a big negative: the shower pressure was horrible, they really need to check to make sure all showers have good pressure (two ladies I spoke with said theirs was great!??). Also, their TV service: there is simply a listing showing you which channels are available, but no real channel guide, so you can't tell what is on each channel and when. This requires you to scroll through every channel to see what is currently on and then you have to guess at which point (beginning? end? middle?) you are viewing the program. This should be a simple fix, but it sure is an annoying point. Considering how much time we spent in the room, it's probably not a big deal, but it wasn't a nice way to end each day. All in all though, a great place, clean and friendly.

Room Tip: overlooking the pool was great. Ask specifically for a room with a high pressure shower.

Our stay at Hilton Grand Vacations for a week was most enjoyable. My booking for a 2 bedroom apartment was in Tower II, with a spacious junior suite with minimum kitchen connected to a 1 bdrm apartment with a large bedroom, sitting room and full kitchen including dishwasher, washer and dryer, and a TV in each room. The only disappointment were the showers, which were not strong or consistent in temperature. The cleaning was only once midway during our stay, but they were quite prompt in providing extra towels and toiletries on request. They supplied a welcome basket with coffee filters, and we had to buy tea from the Marketplace coffee shop. The gym was well equipped, and the heated pool was fairly large. The jacuzzi were the best I have used in a long time. The only disadvantage with the hotel's location which was at the end of the Strip. One had to take the Deuce bus to reach the center of the Strip with a fare of $5 for 2 hours, $7 for 24 hrs and $10 for 3 days per person. Nearby hotels Riviera and Circus Circus were adequate for food , though not much selection in restaurants. Since we were seniors, we didn't miss the nightlife and casinos, as we had been to Vegas several times in the past.

Room Tip: We asked for higher floor rooms near the elevator and with an open view.

This is a typical timeshare hotel. Although it is nice for standard hotel fare, compared to typical vegas hotels, this place is not up to par in amenities. I'm pretty sure that anyone that rates this as a 5-star rating is either a paid promoter, or it was their first time to vegas and didn't have any comparisons. I'd give it a 3 star if it were anywhere else but vegas.

The Pros: (this is a short list) Its a pretty clean place, fairly new and updated, nice pool (but small), decent food, and the Bell and Maid staff are friendly and helpful as are the Pool staff.

The Cons: You're in Vegas, but you're NOT in vegas! True vegas is deeper down the strip where the big casinos are. No gambling close by this one. Only 1 restaurant by the pool outdoors, and 1 store to get snacks/drinks. Cab rides to the "real vegas" are about $10-15 depending on traffic and destination.

Any greeting staff and sales staff seem to go overboard with niceness to get you to buy into the timeshare, doesn't seem genuine. The 2 hour mandatory sales push was bearable, but wasted 2 hours of our time.

We had to go through 3 different rooms. We were called weeks before we arrived to see what type of room we preferred. of course when we showed up, they didn't have that type of room, so gave us a room with a view of a big dirt parking lot under construction. When we mentioned this to the sales staff at the timeshare desk they did take the initative to take us to the front desk to see if there was something better. Ah, suddenly a mysterious opening appeared in the computer and we were moved to the other side of tower 1 with a better view. But oh wait, the air system doesn't seem to be working. We thought maybe it would cool down after the sun went down, so we waited it out. Ever tried to sleep when you're too hot? Then you know what we had! So next day, maint. staff appears, and confirmed air temp was unusually warm from the vent, but they can't get into the neighboring room where the other side of our air handler is, due to sleeping patrons there (hey its vegas, people sleep to Noon here). They promised to leave us a note when it was fixed. 6pm rolls around, not fixed, new maint crew on board now knows nothing. So we switch to the #3 room to prevent another sleepless night, finally getting a decent room. Yay!

Summary: If you're a cheap azz and want a cheap stay in vegas and don't like to gamble, then this is for you. For us, we'll stay in the heart of the strip next time, and just save up the extra dollars to do so.

Thanks for taking the time to rate our resort. I apologize that we did not meet your expectations on your most recent stay. It is not typical to have to room move three times. We will look at our synergy reports and figure out what the problem was. I can tell you we do not alter the remarks in any way, shape, or form. We usually score very well and are ranked pretty high in comparison to the rest of the hotels in Las Vegas. Obviously we dropped the ball during your stay and it should not have happened. I will meet with the team and ensure we do everything possible to not only meet, but exceed, our guest’s expectations. Thanks.

We were at the HGVC late May/early June 2012 for three nights. We stayed in one of the one bedroom units in Tower 1 (15th floor). The "room" (more of a small apartment) was very comfortable, with lots of space. The bed was extremely comfortable. Contrary to some other reviews, we did not think the location on the north end of the strip was a negative, nor was the parking far from the main building (actually, for Vegas, it was a very short walk). Plus, we really enjoyed the fact that it's a non-gaming hotel, and you don't have to walk through the casino every time you come and go. Service was really good at all levels (entry, check-in, poolside, housekeeping, check-out) -- everyone was very friendly and helpful. The exercise facilities were above par, with plenty of machines and free weights to go around. The pool's not huge, but by the same token never got massively crowded (as often happens at the big hotels on the strip). What one of the earlier posters wrote about the internet speed is accurate -- not overly fast (but not so slow as to be annoying). While there is no restaurant per se, there is a "marketplace" where they sell decent food and drinks at reasonable prices. We have stayed at a number of hotels on the strip, and would definitely return to HGVC. BTW, for anyone who's thinking about Love at the Mirage, we would give it two big thumbs up.
