If you only stay on the strip you should venture out to downtown. This area caters more to locals but they have great deals and the hotels have been updated. With the Fremont experience it is good as well.

We went during the day. Walked all of Fremont street in less than 45. Would have been less if we weren’t stopped all the time with people trying to sell something. Kind of expected more from old Vegas.

Very comfortable and caring staff. The slots personal were cheerful and helpful. I had a medical emergency also and the security department people took the time to drive me to the urgent care facilities to be seen by medical professionals. This was greatly appreciated

Spent a day in downtown Vegas visiting The Mob Museum Pawn Stars shop and Fear the Walking Dead attraction all were roughly $20 entrance fee ( Pawn Stars was free) all were good fun .There were plenty of street acts on view and plenty of shops which took a good 8 hours to walk around

This is the best part of Vegas for me. Oldschoool lighting to go with the up to date roof video display on the hour which is just mind blowing. Just be a little streetwise as there are plenty of characters there chancing their lick although I never felt in unsafe or in danger in any way. Four Aueen and the Golden Nugget are a must too.

Never fails to disappoint

The downtown area of Vegas is where it all started so many years ago. It has a nostalgic feel to it with the older casinos, hotels and restaurants. Much of the 'action' including free concerts and street performers happen on Freemont under the dome ceiling. The lights at night are pretty cool. Fun to visit for an afternoon and evening. We enjoyed it and saw a lot of different things that are not on the strip.

I liked this part of Vegas better than the new area of Vegas. A large number of casino's, places to eat and hotels to stay in make this area fun. Within a 10 block area, you can experience the Mob Museum, The Fremont Experience, local street restaurants and just off of the casino area there is some free parking. Every visitor should visit downtown during their stay in Vegas.

They have 3 bands playing the same time in different areas of the mall. The band next to D's was fantastic BUT!! They had the sound system up so high that it thumped your chest. Even the drunk people were complaining. In order to listen to the bad people were standing up one casino so you could enjoy. It was ashamed because they were so good.

Las Vegas Downtown is somewhat more "seedy' than the strip. Its typical Las Vegas with 2nd rate casinos, restaurants and bars.
