Overall, we really liked this hotel. We had a great room with a view of the Belagio fountains. The room was clean and modern, and we really loved having a kitchen. We did have to request utensils and cookware as the kitchen comes completely unstocked, but housekeeping delivered everything very quickly. The location was amazing, a short walk to everything.
The only reasons we didn't rate this hotel 5 stars are the curtains and the pool. The curtains are beautiful, but let in a lot of light. Not really what you want in Vegas, and we found sleeping in very challenging. The other problem is the pool. Not only is it tiny and unimpressive, but from noon to 3, the reflection of the sun off of the building makes it unbearable to be in or around the pool. Apparantly the hotel is looking for a solution to this problem, but be warned, the Vdara death ray has been known to melt plastic....

We, along with two other couples spent 2 days in Las Vegas before traveling west to Pahrump to play golf over the Labor Day weekend. I chose the Vdara because of its location and it is smoke free. Our room was on the 52nd floor with a view overlooking the Bellagio fountains. It was wonderful looking out both in the daytime and the nighttime. The rooms are all suites with a divided wall between the sleeping and sitting areas. They also have someone monitoring the elevators and no one can go up without a room key. I can't say enough good things about he Vdara. Plus we got a super price which included all resort fees. We definitely would stay there again!

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the Strip.

Stayed at this hotel July 2012. Arrived late at night after over14 hours traveling, upon arrival after a quick check in just wanted to go to bed, but on arrival at our room we noticed that the sofa bed was not made up, so a call to housekeeping and 20 mins later they arrived and made it up. As my daughters got into bed they soon jumped out again as every spring in the very thin mattress was sticking out! After another call to housekeeping only to be informed that they had no spare mattresses we were told housekeeping would be along soon to put quilts on top of the mattress! After 30 mins nobody arrived had to phone housekeeping again and waited a further 15 mins until they came with two thick quilts to put on top of the mattress! I have stayed in many hotels and have never had such a poor quality mattress on a sofabed before.
Following morning noticed they had only provided towels for two so had to make another call to housekeeping yet again! Hotel centrally located, nice room, nice view, friendly staff but very small pool area so small I turned around and went back to my room. Very quite hotel with handy kitchenette but no cutlery or dinner service you have to phone housekeeping if you need a plate and when you have finished they take them away again!

Room Tip: Higher floors have the best views.

So, the biggest plus here is that its a 'Non-Casino' Hotel, so perfect to escape the noise and hustle of the 'Strip' Casinos.
Rooms are excellent, very luxurious with great views. The hotel is safe, clean, extremely modern and roomy. The short walk to the Bellagio for Casino, O Show, Tram is no issue at all. Free parking with Valet service was another added bonus. The pool area was great, and service there was really good, with the quality of food excellent.
There is not one single thing i could fault at this hotel!.

Room Tip: Go high, and ask for a Bellagio Fountain overlook.

Vdara is one of the newest hotels on the strip. Located right next to Bellagio, the hotel is tugged away from the hectic of the strip and offer a quiet retreat from the fun filled day in Vegas. The lobby is very simple if not basic for a five star hotel in Vegas, however, the rooms offer plenty of amenity as if you are living in an apartment. Kitchenette, sitting area... etc. View is great in my room facing straight at the Bellagio Fountains and Paris. If you are walking, the location might be a little bit awkward to access. I believe it is easier to go there from a sky bridge located in the back of Bellagio. However, being in the City Centre bubble, you really don't need to get away. If you are driving, Vdara offers complimentary valet parking. This is a big plus for us. Being from Canada, we are toasted by a day of wondering around the city. The last thing we want to do is to worry about parking and dragging our tired feet back to hotel.
Comparing to our friend's room in Mandarin Oriental, obviously MO has a much more elegant lobby and furnishing worthy of a hotel of this caliber. However, it does not match the intimate atmosphere and the convenience that Vdara has to offer.
Overall, it is our new favorite hotel among all the best hotels Vegas has to offer. If you plan on going, I would definitely recommend!
