“Far from the Madding Crowd”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 July 2012

If you need to get away from the hustle and bustle of a typical casino property, try Vdara. The really nice thing is that if you suddenly get the urge to gamble a little - or a lot - the Aria is right next door.

My room (King Deluxe) was very nice with a kitchenette, separate seating area and (count them) two back-to-back flat-screen TVs. Only in Vegas!

The only downside was that the shower stall is designed in such a surprisingly impractical manner that after using it, water seeps into the main bathroom area. Not good architectural thinking and could possibly cause a serious slipping hazard. So be very careful after your shower!

One other minor thing: there was visible dust on the furniture, which may have been due to the fact that I was on the 51st floor. LOL!

Stayed at the Vdara for 5 nights with partner and both suitably impressed. In fact, We almost punched the air with joy when we walked into our suite up on on the 43rd floor and couldn't stop smiling the whole time we were there. Not only was the panoramic view spectacular, with views over the wonderful dancing fountains of the Bellagio, the room was simply AMAZING! The furnishings are all to a very high specification and there is lots of rooms and space to move around in, with well defined spaces i.e. dining area, seating area, kitchen area etc etc; indeed the perfect place for pre-evening drinks, as the in house brochure proclaims! Really liked the fact that this is a non smoking and non gaming hotel;; consequently the only people in the hotel are the actual hotel guests and so things seem to flow so much more smoothly as a result ( some of the other hotels we walked through we're just too busy with too much hustle and bustle!). Free wifi throughout the hotel is a real winner also, so you can get to gloat to all your friends back home with constant facebook updates and emails reminders. What's more, you even get free local and toll free numbers if you use your room phone too so you can make dinner reservations and book and confirm trips knowing that it's not going to cost you the earth! Tv is more like an entertainment system with lots of music and movies on demand......again all free and huge in room console to charge up and connect just about any gadget you can think of! Lovely pool and bar area and great location for strip, only 10 min walk from room to the strip through the Bellagio hotel ( used the bus system to get into the old town and to travel up and down the strip, the drivers are all comedians and at $6 per day the fare represents excellent value for money too) Found the staff in the cafe bar a bit rude and aggressive at times and think the hotel should possibly address this, as all other staff excellent and attentive and so they really are letting the side down!. Prices a bit on the steep side too, as you would expect with odd selection of things in their shop, but there are plenty of other eateries and supermarkets nearby. The Aria buffet across the way at $40 per person is a must ( lobster, unlimited wine and a buffet like no other!). All in all, a perfect stay, in a perfect hotel......my smartphone, when loading up the weather, said it all when it described my location as Paradise ! The only problem now will be booking other hotels, as this really is the new benchmark.

Room Tip: Request high room with views over the Bellagio. Enjoy every minute!

The Vdara is small (by Las Vegas standards) and is situated behind the Strip, which means it is an oasis of calm within the madness that is Las Vegas. It has no casino and is smoke-free,which means that it is a haven where you can relax in a contemporary, upscale location. The rooms are all huge and the king-size bed was wonderfully comfortable. The bathroom was really lovely with a deep European bath tub and a separate walk-in shower. The room was really well-appointed, very modern with plenty of space to relax.

We spent a lot of time simply chilling by the pool, which is not a grand affair, but seemed plenty big enough for the number of people there. There is a great hot tub which is like a small swimming pool, and is seriously hot! We decided to rent a day bed, and if we were in a larger group, it would have been fun to rent a cabana, but if you're not planning to be out by the pool for a long time, there's really no need.

The hotel has a cafe/snack bar (The Marketplace) which is great for breakfast; you can sit in the cafe and read the complimentary newspapers or simply get a take-away. There is also a bar in the hotel which we didn't visit, so can't comment, and you can also get simple meals at the cafe by the pool which was awesome - huge portions, great quality food and efficient, friendly service.

The location of the hotel is perfect - you can walk to the Bellagio through the special walkway; we were at the fountains within 5 minutes. It is an even shorter stroll to the next-door Aria which has all the gaming, restaurants, shops etc that are typical of most Las Vegas hotels. There is also a tram which is a two minute walk (just by the back entrance of the Bellagio) which takes you to City Center for more shops, restaurants and Crystals Night Club.

Staff were all great, valet parking was very efficient, check in and check out were speedy and courteous. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, and would definitely stay again if I return to Vegas in the future.

Room Tip: Higher floors have a better view

Vdara is a great place to stay in Las Vegas. No smoking. No casino. Very clean. The staff is excellent and everything went smoothly on my recent visit.

Very close to Aria, a 500 yard walk. Also, very close to Bellagio, a close, easy walk and you don't have to walk outside or deal with The Strip. I attended a meeting at Bellagio but stayed at Vdara. It was a breeze.

The hotel is a suite with kitchen and living area. Very pleasant and exceptionally clean in every respect.

This hotel is first class. Now it doesnt have all the extras like the surrounding hotels like shops.casinos..multiple restaurants... amusement parks.....which is ok with me. Not a ton of traffic. We stayed on the 51st floor in a suite that had a panoramic view of the city. I have to say it was UNBELIEVABLE. It had a kitchen with dinning area..living room..bedroom..bathroom all apart from each other. It was huge! The room was also so clean! Very Very quiet too! I would highly recommend this hotel. The price was reasonable also.
