Loved it's so much, this is a wonderful trip. Lots of beautiful scenery. We planned a 2 day trip which turned into 1 day trip because of high winds. But I still recommended.

To do this hike, be fully prepared with enough water and snacks. Check the weather and temperature, so you will be able to tell if hopping in the springs is a good idea.

The hike takes 2 to 4 hours round trip, depending on how fast you hike, how long you take breaks, and how long you enjoy the hot springs.

Note- if you go counter clockwise, be prepared with a gps/map, because after the hot springs, the pathing can lead you to another total different route or to a harder climb up, which could take you into a hard scramble.

Be prepared.

This trail is definitely more difficult than "moderate". I wouldn't say it was super difficult, but it wasn't easy. My husband and I took the trail off the left first down to the hot springs. It wasn't marked very well, and we kept confusing the trail for the wash. luckily, they mostly go to roughly the same area. In the hot springs themselves, we came upon the top pool first (I brought water shoes and switched to them at this point, and was very grateful I did) the top pool was very very hot! But as you get the the lower pools they cool down. And we stayed and soaked a while. Going down the ladder, I was terrified. It looks sketchy, and the rungs are slippery. I would have preferred to go up that ladder instead. finding the trail after the springs was tricky and not clearly marked. When we did find it, it was a scramble that I mostly made doing a spider crawl keeping 3 points of contact at all times. Then we hiked back up to the parking lot. It was a steady incline, but it was all gravel, your feet, ankles, and calves will kill. The entire hike, with soaking time, pictures, and breaks included, took us about 5 hours. Overall, the hike was beautiful, loved the hot springs, will be back again but maybe take the reverse of what we did this time, and definitely bring more water. Glad we packed a dry bag and had swim things to get wet in, sunscreen, dry shoes and wet shoes, and granola bars. Please pack out what you pack in, seeing some garbage and graffiti was a little sad.

The trail, the scenery and the experience was all better than advertised. Was concerned about crowding ( went on a Sunday) and birthday suits and saw neither. This hike had great scenery along the trail, beautiful Colorado River views and beaches, and then the springs. Truly a unique and memorable experience.

At the trailhead, there's a sign advising hikers to bring 1-2 gallons per person on this hike. My husband and I only packed 6 16.9-oz bottles for the two of us since we were trying to pack light. We went about a week before this trail closes for the summer, so it was in the 90s and windy that day. While the dryness and heat didn't much affect my husband and he was fine with his water ration, I could've done with a lot more. Maybe some sturdier shoes as well, but we managed in sneakers.

Some passing hikers advised us to hike through White Rock Canyon to get to the springs as that trail is "less exposed." That was a scenic, shady hike down to the river. A bit difficult here and there, but good exercise. The river was a welcome respite at the end; nice and cool with campers and kayakers visiting (it's also where the only latrines on the trail are).

The trail is not well marked near the river and does not follow the shore, but we were able to find the hot springs (via the ladder referenced above. The water runs down the cliff, so mind that it doesn't get near your nose, as it carries N. fowleri). So beautiful! The pool right before the ladder is the coolest, and they get hotter the farther in the canyon you go.

While there's other trails you can probably take, we were able to climb up (and between) some rocks at the last hot spring pool and pick up the Arizona Hot springs trail back to the parking lot.
