This was our first trip to Vegas that we stayed at Paris; I travel to Vegas three or four times a year for business and fun. Paris proved to be very nice. Though very busy, the lines moved quickly. Bell service was very quick and friendly. Taxi/Door Service was also very good. The only negative was the male concierge, he was rude and virtually unhelpful. My advice is to call for help from you room, these people were much friendlier and really went out of their way to help us.

Room Tip: Pick the back side of the hotel, you won't be kept awake by the lights and sounds.

I spent a weekend at the Paris for a friend's wedding.

Room: Really needs a refresh. When we checked in, the bathroom smelled like sewage. Unfortunately we didn't notice until we had unpacked and were on a tight schedule with no time to move rooms. The next day the toilet blocked up. We called the front desk and they did send someone pretty quickly, and after that the sewage smell went away. But based on other reviews I wonder if there is some sort of large-scale plumbing problem. Also, room was generally run-down - rug worn away in spots, bathroom tile chipped, etc. But size and layout were good, and the bed was comfortable.

Meals: Good. The buffet is decent but I would definitely recommend paying the $10 to skip the two-hour line (Saturday morning at about 11:00 AM). Our meal at the Eiffel Tower restaurant (? I can't remember if that's what it is called but it's the one in the Eiffel Tower) was outstanding. Try the specialty cocktails and the souffles.

Service: Good overall with one major lapse - we took my friend's wedding dress to the concierge to have it pressed and they said we would have it back by 5:30. When we hadn't heard from them by 6, one of the bridesmaids went to the concierge, who said he didn't know where it was and had no record of it! They figured it out quickly and we got the dress within 30 minutes but that was one stressful half hour.

Spa: Very nice, I had an excellent massage with Ovid, but my friends had mixed reviews of their foot treatments.

Pool: Low-key, not a scene like some of the Vegas hotels. We were able to get three loungers even on a busy Saturday afternoon and prompt drink service.

Overall: Recommend, but don't expect a high-end experience.

We were looking for a hotel close to the strip but without the queues and long walks associated with the more obviously "themed" hotels. We were originally planning to stay at Bill's Gamblin' Hall again but when we booked they were only booking until end-2011, so we assumed (wrongly) that the wrecker's ball was due. Well, the walk from the parking garage via the "Parisian streets" to hotel check-in is a fair bit longer than Bill's, but not too bad and there was none of the 45 minute queues we had previously experienced at the Luxor. The room elevators are close by so we were soon in our room without having to negotiate acres of casino.

The room - well, a bit dated (CRT TV) but at least the a/c was fairly quiet by US standards, and there was plenty of space and a huge bed. The view was across the pool towards the strip - hardly spectacular but better than a parking lot (or so we thought). We were amazed that the Paris want $14.99 a night for Wi-Fi - if, like us, you think that is ridiculous in 2012, just wander down to the Cafe Madelaine where you can pick up your e-mails for nothing and spend the money on coffee and cake. There are plenty of other dining options in the hotel.

On trying to get some sleep after our long flight, we were assailed by the dreaded "music" - phoning down to reception got us an offer of a handicapped room on the other side of the hotel, or some earplugs. No mention was made of this noise on check-in - apparently it is Friday, Saturday and Tuesday nights until 4:30am. We would have happily exchanged our view for some bins in return for a good night's sleep, but as it was late we stayed put and there were no problems on our remaining nights.

So - better than some of the more overtly "themed" hotels but we would certainly look at Bill's if you can cope without the variety of eating places on site.

Room Tip: Don't get a "Strip View" room if you want to actually sleep.

From the moment we entered the door, the hotel showed they had no sense of "Customer Service" The hotel check-in was unbearingly slow (we understandlong lines to be expected in Vegas) and the casino floor was undergoing renovation and seemed dark and dreary. Went to the Concierge three times for help, and they acted as though I was bothering them. As a Total Rewards customer, I received no extra benefits to keep me at the hotel (out of coupon books for at least two more weeks, no buffet or drink offers) Promises were made before I booked, but once I was there, nothing came through. The room was OK, but not the soaking tub as expected (old steel 1 1/2 ft. high). No info in the room about pool hours, nothing about their restaurants hours, type of food or prices and enyone we asked knew nothing about anything. In all fairness, the food at Le Provencal was excellent (no singing waiters though as advertised) and the Pool was beautiful (however it closed early the day we arrived for a private party). Never tried the Buffet as the lines were just too long and the morning we left, we ordered breakfast at Le Cafe which was the last time we saw our waiter until after I complained to the manager. In fairness, credit goes to the manager who apologized and did not charge us. Anyway, unless you are really set on the "French Experience" , there are more customer friendly hotels on the strip.
