“Good place to stay for Price”
Reviewed 29 April 2012

I stayed at the Stratosphere with friends for my 21st Birthday. We checked in and from reviews I thought it would be run down. It was really nice. It was clean and the casino was nice. So was the bar. The Back Ally, and the bartender there was AWESOME! He was a lot of fun. And remembered us the 2nd and 3rd time we came in. They gave me tickets for free drinks at the pool, except the pool wasn't open the entire time we were there, which sucked. It wasnt extremely warm but it would have been nice to have the option of a pool. The rooms were nice, a little small but for the price I guess thats what you get. Room service was good and every one was nice. THE BIGGEST THING is how far from the strip it is, which i knew was going to be an issue anyways. The deuce is alright and kind of cheap but it takes forever. All in all it was a nice hotel but if you plan on drinking a lot and going on the strip stay in a hotel closer, that is what I am going to do next visit.

Stratosphere Hotel is a little way "out of it" compared to the others on the strip. All the Hotels are much the same inside with Casino, Bars, shops and restaurants, but this one is lacking a little and is tired and in need of TLC.
It was the 2nd cheapest on the strip, out of the well known Hotels (circus circus was the cheapest).
If I visit again I would choose a Hotel more centrally located, but having said that, the room was clean, air con, spacious, clean and modern bathroom, shower over bath.
Venetain and Ceasars were much more opulent and classy, but this one is good if its a cheap break you are after.

This hotel is a perfect choice for your first trip to Las Vegas, NV. It is centrally located at the north end of "the strip", but I say "centrally", because even north of that is the Original Las Vegas (downtown). The Deuce is a saviour as it stops right in front of the hotel and is available every 8 minutes or so, going in either direction. The service is not indicative of the immense size of these Vegas hotels. It is warm and personable. The only drawback was that the closing time for the pool is 6:00pm. Otherwise, the property was immaculate, and our trip through Southwest Airline Vacations went off without a hitch.

Room Tip: Definately ask for one of the "select" rooms.

stayed here for 5 nights last week in one of their renovated select rooms.
you can immediately feel the difference from the other "older" rooms in terms of corridors style (carpet, wall, lighting), interior elegance and bed quality.
the rooms have been obviously renovated with a dose of style, but i found unbelievable that they have done absolutely nothing in protecting their clients from unwanted noises coming from the other rooms or from the corridors.
the insulation between the rooms is poor and you can hear the other people doing their activities both in the bathrooms and in the room; the insulation of the door is also poor and noises of all type come inside.
also, there is no refrigerator inside the room: this is a pity since you are in a big, hot, dry city and maybe would like to drink something while in the room.
the bathroom is ok but i suggest to pay more attention in the deep cleaning of the sink.
the bed is super comfortable, really good with a lot of pillows.
the morning sun will not disturb you a lot; you get a good protection from the curtains.
the internet access is paid @ 12USD a day but quite fast and reliable.
the elevators are a big number of 8; this will prevent you from waiting more than 30 seconds to get one.

the hotel registration desks are far from the elevators and you need to be prepared to handle a big queue at all the hours. also, the walk parking-registration-elevators-room can take about 10 minutes (but the park is free!)

the position of the hotel does not pose a threat if you have a car of are prepared to spend a quite on taxis... walking around to the strip center zone can be long but not dangerous if you are aware of your surroundings and act wisely. there are some people begging around the area but simply ignore them and continue straight on your way.

the guest of the hotel get free access to the tower which is a nice gift since paid access would cost more than 10USD. from the tower you have access to a big panorama so please bring your camera. also, here, be prepared to handle about 30 minutes to get to the top because of the queue.

at the end of all, the hotel is a big bargain, especially during busy vegas times such as trade shows. i would reccomend to anyone, if you bring ear plugs to sleep well during the night!

Room Tip: stratosphere select rooms facing the tower for a "good view" stratosphere select rooms fa...

A nice hotel. Nice pool area on the 25th floor. The tower was quite amazing. A drawback that you have to pay for internet. Since I'm no gambler I would recommend non-gamblers to not spend more than one night in Vegas. This is what you need to see Ceasers Palace, Venetian etc.
