Stayed overnight after a last minute invitation to a wedding. First time at this particular hotel, not first trip to Vegas. Anyway, rooms are blah, not well lit (who doesnt light up the vanity!) Kept running into piles of chairs, benches, old broken down equipment, I dont know if there is remodeling going on, but not a nice sight. We arrived at 10am and were able to check in by paying an extra $20 which was fine because we needed to get ready for the 11:30am wedding that took us to Vegas. Nothing outstanding to report.

Nice room but this location is a little far. We knew that when we booked but thought it would be ok. It is actually farther than you think, it IS Las Vegas after all! $18 resort fee is ridiculous. They hype up what you get, well you get NOTHING. There are 5 pools, only 3 were open and one cost $50 to get in DAILY!! the "MLife" card they issue, is a joke, most places do not accept it and do not offer discounts. They are doing construction on the hotel and the noise starts at 6 AM ! It IS Vegas! People stay out, go to shows or whatever and get back to the room after midnight and then the noise starts that early, ridiculous. Do not count on internet access, it is dial up with a short cord, no wi-fi. Nice room, but overall, we will not stay here again.

Room Tip: We were on the 19th floor facing the strip. Although it is not considered a strip view, because this...

This was our first stay at the Luxor. The hotel is great. Our room was large with a king bed compared to some other hotels we have stayed in. Two suggestions for your trip to Las Vegas. First, decide if you are going to see shows, which ones and where they are located on the strip. Second, pick a hotel that fits your budget near the shows you wish to see. Cab fares have increased greatly since our last visit. $15+ airport to the Luxor. More to some of the other strip hotels. $20-25+ from the Luxor to Freemont Street. If you plan to see several shows and go to Freemont Street a couple of times, it may pay to rent a car. Bus fare is $5 for a 2 hr ticket and it is nearly an hour ride from the North end of the strip to Freemont Street. Food at most of the hotel restaurants is expensive compared to Portland, OR area better restaurants. Explore, you can find many good food courts, the older casinos on Freemont have very good cafes and diners.

Room Tip: If you can, ask for a room on the 5th floor or above in order to have a view. If you want a view th...

Three of my friends shared a room in the pyramid (5th floor). The beds were soft but the sheets were just ok. It was either freezing in the room or hot, needless to say I did not sleep much. The casino was nice and always well kept but smokier than others that I have visited. When looking from the balcony outside our room to other balconies there was a lot of trash, cigarette butts and just other random debris. That was slightly off putting. But I had a good time and it was cheap so I wasn't expecting too much. Priced appropriately.

Room Tip: choose the tower!
