Do it yourself and enjoy the Grandeur of Nevada too if you think only Arizona has it. Surprise is the Fall Colors of Summerlin.

We rented a car for the day and hiked for a couple of hours. We got to see jack rabbits, hawks, coyotes and lizards. My bud had seen wild horses in his last visit. Really cool photo opportunities and for this city east coast kid a real treat!

If you want to hike, be sure to get there early. The parking areas fill up for the popular hikes. It is a really great place, not to far from Vegas, to get outdoors and spend a day.

You can drive the canyon with several stops for photo's. You can also go to the ranch which is a spot to visit history. Beautiful area.

Wonderful expansive views of what one imagines the west to be. A great 13 mile loop with many turnoffs leading to interesting trails. Especially enjoyed Visitor Center where we met an 86 year old woman who grew up in the Blue Diamond mining village. Fascinating stories and pictures.

For a break away from the bright lights and noise of The Strip, this is an absolute must. It's a short drive out of town and the circular drive is a reminder of what a spectacularly magnificent area this part of the world is.
The rock formations, colour and wildlife are an amazing testimony to the power of nature.
Half a day is more than enough time, so this trip can be combined with all sorts of other things.

Great way to see the desert and the beautiful canyons. You will swear that they are painted. Go in the evening before sunset-spectacular lighting on the rocks as the sun sets.

Great sightseeing. Totally at your own pace. Not too far off the strip. A must do if you haven’t been there already.

It’s amazing this area is 20-30 minutes from the Strip! We rented a car and drove to the park in no time. The Visitor area was very helpful, maps were provided as well as guidance from the volunteers that were kind and happy to help us. We drove the scenic route and stopped for pics and hikes along the way. Bathrooms were readily available throughout the loop. It was a wonderful day. A DEFINITE must do while in Vegas!

Can't wait to be back!! Lovely hikes.. Do Ice Box Canyon in summer - rated "difficult" by park but its really manageable even for children.
