We stayed at Villa Mondello Addaura in May 2018 and had the most wonderful holiday. The apartment is light and airy and with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms it is very spacious too. We were only two people and had lots of room. The living, dining and kitchen area is open plan and decorated in a light colour scheme with blue accessories, which matches perfectly with the bright blue Sicilian skies and the blue sea in front of the house. From the terrace in front of the kitchen you can view the sea and it is a perfect space for a relaxing breakfast. The area is shaded too, which is very welcome in the hot climate. The house also has a very spacious rooftop terrace which is private and has seating and sun loungers.
The bedrooms too are spacious and nicely furnished. Our bed was very comfortable and we had plenty of wardrobe space. Having two bathrooms was an added luxury. Both bathrooms had powerful showers and plenty of hot water. Roberta, our landlady, was very friendly and caring and gave us excellent advice about Mondello, shops, restaurants, bus services etc. She also ensured that we had bikes available (the house also has a large storage rooms for keeping them). The bikes were really useful to cycle into Mondello and the beach. The beach right in front of the house is rocky and the sandy beach of Mondello is about 650 m from the house - perfect to reach by bike. Mondello beach is amazing: soft sand, shallow warm water and a wonderful blue colour. There are also plenty of places to eat and of course have Gelati (an absolute must in Italy).
There is a little supermarket about 30 m from the house which caters for all necessary essentials and also has fresh bread and a small Rosticceria for some ready made meals - very convenient.
There are also very good bus services to the centre of Palermo from Mondello and it was not necessary to hire a car in order to do lots of sight-seeing. The buses in Palermo are quite cheap but crowded at times. Many parts of the old centre of Palermo can be explored on foot though and the location of the house is ideal to combine sight-seeing with a wonderful beach holiday. During our stay, Roberta also organised a sailing trip for us and we booked concert tickets at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo (a wonderful experience).
The nature reserve of Capo Gallo is also very close to Mondello and can be reached by bike. It is very quiet and ideal for nature lovers. We managed to cycle as far as the lighthouse and then walked from there - beautiful scenery and lots of wild flowers covering the hillsides.
All in all, Villa Addaura is a wonderful location to explore Palermo and Mondello and Roberta is the most welcoming and friendly host.
We had an amazing week here. Very close to the beach. A Caribbean experience in the Mediterranean. Very kind people and amazing furniture. The terrace is large and relaxing. Rooms are so well designed!
We’ll be back soon!
We have an amazing stay at Villa Mondello Addaura! The villa is really in front of the sea and it has an amazing panoramic terrace overlooking the sea, where we had lovely moments having a prosecco in such a special atmosphere! In the morning we used it as solarium, the sea access is easy, just in front of the Villa and with the free cycles, Roberta offered us, we could easily reach the close Mondello Beach! Roberta welcomed us as we were old friends and she was really helpful during our stay, recommending us lovely restaurants, organizing for us a daily excursion on a sail boat...oh my god! it was wonderful! The Villa is new, spoitless, we enjoyed it so much and you can find all the confort you need.... kitchen full accessorized, towel for the beach, cycles and a barbecue! The bedrooms are lovely and the living room is a very bright open space! Having lunch with a sea view was amazing! We had such a great time at Villa Mondello Addaura, highly recommended! Thank you Roberta, we ll come back for sure!
