I stayed at Avalon village for 4 nights and by the time I left I felt like a local.
Maria who runs the houses also has a taverna where she will cook you home made Cypriot cuisine. The food just keeps on coming! I would recommend you have at least one breakfast and dinner here. The food is beautiful, fresh and gives you a chance to try many local dishes. The rooms were far bigger then I had expected as we also had our own lounge and kitchen area. It was like having our own little Cypriot villa. Complete with pool right out side the door and about 8 sun loungers who I never saw anyone in. Beach towels were also provided in the rooms.
Staying there away from all the commercial tourism of Limassol you get the true local life experience. Though it's only a 10-15 minute drive into the centre. It is better if you have a car, we didn't how ever and you can get by. There are local buses and a taxi cost approximately $17-$22 . Cypriot hospitality at its best.More
