We stayed at this hotel over President's weekend 2012. We had our own sleds and intended to snowmobile up over Two Top. It was a beautiful weekend!

The hotel was nice. Rooms were clean enough, although we did find an old sock by one of the beds which creeped me out... The beds were not the best, but they were "ok". The room was plenty big, we have twins and usually bring a blow up mattress, there was plenty of room for that.

I was really irritated by the blue light on the TV. It illuminated the whole room at night when the TV was on. You couldn't even look at the TV at night, that blue light blinded you.

In the morning, you have to run the hot water for like 10 minutes to get hot water... probably due to how cold it is outside, although for West Yellowstone, it was actually a heat wave at 36!

Breakfast was just "ok". Ran out of yogurt and hot chocolate, we had to go buy our own. Pancake maker was a hit with the kids. Coffee was out often, but when asked they made more. Basic breakfast; cereals, boiled eggs, bagels, toast, pancakes.

Pool: Kids enjoyed it. They were renovating at the time, but the workers were very considerate. Was no bother at all. The pool did turn my daughter's hair green... had to give her a double dose washing with baking soda when we got home...

My biggest complaint was that someone in a little red S-10 pickup parked behind our snowmobile trailer on the 2nd day and we were unable to load/unload our machines. We figured it had to be an employee, but maybe not. SO ANNOYED by this! Oh well, what can you do.

This was not our first stay here and I would stay here again. Employees were very polite and did what they could do to help you enjoy your stay.

Room Tip: We were on the first floor close to the end. Worked for us going in and out for loading snowmobiles...

Recently had a very nice stay and feel this property was a great bargain. Rooms were comfortable and better than average. Breakfast options were good and better than expected. Great location as it was close to the park entrance and across the street from Bear and Grizzly Center.

Comfortable, well-run hotel with good rooms & friendly staff. If arriving in W Yellowstone in winter without a car, getting luggage to Xanterra Snowcoach pickup at the Gray Wolf Inn is challenging as there are no taxis in W yellowstone and the Xanterra Snowcoach doesn't pickup at any other hotels. This is really a no-brainer in winter!

Room Tip: Suites are very comfortable and worth the extra in terms of space & kitchen

Despite some tepid or unfavorable reviews of this property, we booked five rooms for ten couples the night before going into YNP on Xanterra snowcoaches. We were pleasantly surprised with the HUGE rooms and two complete sink setups--one in the room and one in the bathroom. Really a nice room! Everything was clean and comfortable, and the included motel breakfast was very good. They didn't mind our bringing box lunches to the breakfast room around noon to eat there before going into the park. We were allowed to leave our vehicles in the below-ground heated garage while we were in YNP, so we came back to warm and dry vehicles! There is elevator service from the motel into/from the garage, making it extremely convenient to unload and load in a warm and dry environment. The front desk people were very cordial and accommodating. I cannot think of a single derogatory comment to make about this place and would recommend it to anyone at any time, but especially for those taking Xanterra snowcoach trips into the park. The motel is the only place to board, so if staying elsewhere you must come to the Gray Wolf for the snowcoach--and you can't then leave your car inside their garage.

Room Tip: Avoid ground floor just due to possible traffic noise in the parking lot. There are two elevators t...
