“Out of this world! Zip & Dip - fun for the whole family”
Reviewed 1 August 2011

We just got back from out trip to Montana & cannot stop talking about the great time we had with Montana Whitewater. We did the zip & dip tour which took us ziplining & white-water rafting on the Gallatin river. It was a full day of adventure & excitement. It's hard to find things that a 17-year-old & a 9-year-old will like equally but both kids had an amazing time. Our guides Ben & Zoey were very engaging & made sure that everyone was comfortable & enjoying themselves. I liked that the rafting trip put our family in a raft by ourselves rather than piling us in with others & our guide, Alexandra, was fantastic. The pouring rain that started halfway down the river made it even more memorable. They took great pictures during both activities that were very reasonably priced. The whole experience was well worth the $$ & was the highlight of our summer but the PEOPLE at Montana Whitewater made it OUT OF THIS WORLD.

“Skip This if you are looking for a true rafting experience”
Reviewed 23 July 2011

First, let me say that the guides were great as was the office staff. The personnel manning this outfit were professional, very much into their jobs and knew their craft. That said, I paid over $300 for a float trip that took all of 30 minutes. The water was high but the length of river that this trip covers is only 6 miles and even in slower water this was a very short trip. We had to suit up with helmets, wet suits etc and while we didn't mind this, the suiting up and getting to the input place took longer than the trip!! Because we were the "float trip" when we went to put in, we axctually had to sit and wait for another group that was on the river to catch up to our spot so that we could finish out with them. So much of the "3 hour" trip was spent getting ready, waiting on the side of the river, and then returning to the headquarters. Nice trip but not worth the money. If you want to raft in Yellowstone head for the Snake in Jackson Hole or better yet go north to Glacier for a more in depth experience. Again, company is great as are the guides but they are simply not set up in a place to raft for any great length of time and the 3 hour trip was not on the water, it was spent doing everything but sitting on the water!!

“Paddle and Saddle - I highly recommend it!”
Reviewed 22 July 2011

I loved the horseback riding on the Stermitz Ranch. Our guides Kim and Shawn were so friendly and helpful. Kim even grabbed a bunch of raincoats out of her truck for those who didn't have them. It stopped raining right away, the sun came out, our ride was so beautiful. The wildflowers just carpeted the hills. Kim and Shawn were very safety conscious. My 7 year old had a super gentle pony named jr. I really appreciated that! They took great care of us! We go horseback riding on most of our vacations and these horses and guides were the best so far.
Whitewater rafting was a little scary at first because the river was so high and strong, but we really liked that too. Our friends went on the zipline thing and really liked that with this same company. We met nice people and had a super day! The experience and price can't be beat!

“Great experience! Staff is friendly and the water was great!!”
Reviewed 13 June 2011

We just got back from a trip out to Yellowstone and wanted to take a day off from the park....we decided to go whitewater rafting and called Montana Whitewater...the staff was great.....when we arrived everyone was so friendly and fun to be around. We had a great trip down the river and the guide made a real effort to make the trip fun for us. It was nice that they outfitted us with warm gear to wear on the river and that was included in the charge. We had been whitewater rafting before and it was especially nice at the end of the trip when there was no hard sell for pics or people hanging around for tips...It was also nice to see our wet gear being sanitized for the next bunch! I recommend them highly!!

“great time , but dont jump into the water, cold!!!!”
Reviewed 13 October 2010

Somewhat difficult to get to from west yellowstone, but worth it. River is perfect towards the end of july for scenic rafting trip with small children that know how to swim. Ask for Liz , she was great with the children and offered much knowledge of the area while rafting. Dont bring anything of value with you, no secure storage or lockers offered. Not much for parking either, look on the street for parking. Wear a wet suit if possible, it gets cold.
