I stayed at Lake Mcdonald lodge for 3 nights of May 2010. It was my first time in Glacier National park and I picked this lodge after seeing photos of it on a Ken Burns National Park documentary. I had high expectations of this place, and not only did this lodge meet them but they exceeded them. The staff was SO friendly and helpful. I had a motor inn room and thought maybe I'd rather stay in the actual lodge so they took me personally and showed me two other rooms if I wanted to switch. I ended up staying in the room that I first chose and it was wonderful. My friend and I call that weekend in Glacier the best weekend of our lives, and the hotel definitely helped with that. The views were amazing, the lodge was cozy and grand, and the restaurant was delicious and well priced! I also got an amazing moose stuffed animal at the gift shop for my collection. The prices for the lodge were reasonable and in fact quite a good deal when you think of the service. There was also a camp store that was convenient for late night snacks! I would definitely come back to this hotel and I plan on it next year!
