Outstanding food and service, run by foodies, unusual combinations, and a great bar. Easily one of the finest restaurants in St. Luis and on a par with the best restaurants anywhere.

We have been to this area many times and so we decided to try out Liluma. We went there with an open mind and had not read any reviews before.
In a nutshell: it was an utter disappointment and a pricey one.
This restaurant pretends to be a higher-end gourmet restaurant but it fails miserably.
The food was mediocre and uninspiring at best.
The crab cake was actually quite OK, but the remoulade so salty and spicy that Gordon Ramsey would have spat it out in front of anyone in the restaurant.
The sea scallops tiny, tiny and a smell of old fish that they should never have.
A Sauvignon Blanc by the quart that was so bland and tasteless that I really wonder who anyone could have picked this wine.
The list goes on and on and finishes with the same uninspiring desserts: creme brulee, apple cobbler, chocolate tart.... Give me a break. Is this all you can imagine for desserts?
Do yourself a favor: go somewhere else.

Everything, except being able to sit outside in 70 degree weather in November, about our visit to this restaurant was disappointing - service, food quality, quantity, cleanliness, price. I said to my wife that this restuarant could only get by with folks that don't live in the area and don't know any better. This is the second time in a two week span that I went to a restaurant, when I was out of town, without checking its ratings and I will not do that again.

Liluma is one of the restaurants run by Jim Fiala in St. Louis. Not quite as fancy as The Crossing in Clayton, and slightly simpler food, but delicious nonetheless. The restaurant is small and intimate, and service is excellent.

Nice brunch. A little pricey for what you get.
