We had booked a bus safari of around 20 minutes. The safari park is a bit of a big enclosure where you can see Lions, Leopard's and other animals.

This is a safari into confide space in Gir created for select lions. Sightings is very strong cuz area is small and lion population is more. Roads are well defined. Jeep safari is completely covered, so you feel as if you are in cage and Bus safari means too much of noise. Keep this as optional if you are not getting Gir National Park safari or your objective Lion sighting and not forest safari experience.

Its no doubt a compromise, nevertheless a decent option in case you either don't have the time or haven't been able to get the permit (like us) for the longer 'real' Gir safari. Being a controlled environment, lion sightings are assured, and to be fair, it is not a total zoo feeling. So overall, not a bad option; but of course, not recommended for true-blue jungle safari adventure and thrill-seekers.
When we visited, the Gir Interpretition Zone was closed, which is a pity.
