Its no doubt a compromise, nevertheless a decent option in case you either don't have the time or haven't been able to get the permit (like us) for the longer 'real' Gir safari. Being a controlled environment, lion sightings are assured, and to be fair, it is not a total zoo feeling. So overall, not a bad option; but of course, not recommended for true-blue jungle safari adventure and thrill-seekers.

When we visited, the Gir Interpretition Zone was closed, which is a pity.

The official booking website is handled by a private agency which is a Scam . They do not pay the guide & gypsy charges to the Gir authorities

The Devaliya bus Safari can be booked at the Devaliya park itself. No need for online booking and following instructions. For 8am online booking I reached Devaliya @ 7.15 am as the reporting time mentioned was 7.30 am. There was no one around.
Counters open only at 8 am. First bus will leave only when it is full. The capacity is 19 passengers. Timings are 8-11 am and 3-5 pm. The park is neatly maintained. Just go between these times and avail of the 30 min bus Safari. Can see at least a lion/lioness, spotted dear and lots of leopards.

Better than spending almost half a day for a 2 hour visit in the forest with no assurance of sighting the lions at a steep price.
