We stayed at Saavaj (Deluxe Cottages) on the 24th of Dec. The resort benefits from its location - being a bit off the highway, it is quite green, well spread-out and peaceful. Lot of photo-ops around the resort. The rooms were simple and clean, although a bit congested; basically not much to complain or praise. A suggestion - adding a shower curtain would be helpful. The water in the swimming pool didn't look clean, although must admit, we didn't use it since it was evening by the time we reached.
A big let-down was the food (ironical since the main reason for choosing Saavaj over another resort was the good reviews on TA on its food quality). Both at dinner and at breakfast, there was a rush and the staff seemed overwhelmed. The spread itself was ok, but a long wait for rotis at dinner and for parathas at breakfast was frustrating. Also, some of the dishes got over and were not refilled while some of the guests were still not done yet - even the tea got over, not seen that happening elsewhere. The food quality itself was moderate - the noodles and the gathiyas both seemed under-cooked.
Overall, a comfortable stay, but the food could have been better.More
