Pro's

Easy to find, close access to highway
Inexpensive
Decent free breakfast
Free Wi-Fi and parking

Cons

Horrible Beds and pillows, burn all of them now
Not a great area, do not walk around at night
Limited food options close by
No hot water, warm only for showers
Very strange layout of rooms

Did not use the pool, so can not comment

If you are only staying one night and can deal with the beds, this might be ok for you.

If you truly want to getaway from it all, this is the place. It is literally on a dead end. It's perfect. The room was clean. The staff friendly. They have smoking rooms. Yes. Smoking rooms. It is great! The free continental breakfast was good. I would go back.

Ok we stayed here on our way to NC and had a nice big room and it was actually pretty quiet...that was 10/1217.....and they deserved 4 stars....tonight we wound up in a room where the hallwZy smells so strong of deodorizer/ perfumes that I'm wondering about this place. The room tonight 10/22/17 is smaller, old looking, carpet by door frayed, the fridge is small no freezer compartment, we are in room 114 , the AC unit smells funny and the outside noices are loud..sounds like train yard??? Eighteen wheelers in parking lot???? Not sure what but it's loud and annoying...so this visit get the LOW RATING...I did ask for a quiet room after driving 10 hrs straight, I really wanted a NICE room...

Mixed feeling about this hotel. It's located in an industrial area, sits below 435 highway. only restaurants close (within 6 blocks) are Denny's, Waffle House & McDonald's. Has an outdoor pool-very nice. Nothing spacious about building. Room had 2 double beds, lots of pillows, very quiet-didn't hear freeway traffic or trains. Shower curtain rail was falling off wall, room had a musty smell but my air freshener took care of it. Housekeeping must spray something, too, 'cause after they were done, room smelled better until the next day when it repeated all 6 days we were here. All staff & personnel we encountered were GREAT! There's a back road that goes directly into downtown Kansas City so we could avoid all freeways & a considerable amount of traffic but semi's also used this road. We didn't go to breakfast but I had their decaf coffee in the evening & it was great. The towels were yellowed but clean & fresh every day. Ended up loving the location and staff was terrific. For the price, it did fit our needs.

Room Tip: First impressions of the facility are deceiving.

It is an inexpensive hotel and you will get what you pay for. Had it not been for the pool I would have rated this a 1. Yes, there is a sewer gas smell outside the hotel but not inside. The inside has its own fragrance of musty, old, and damp. The first room we occupied (for 5 minutes) was not clean, with mold around the tub, and the odor of the room was unbearable. We were quickly and courteously moved to room #2 which was tolerable. Even with the AC/fan running the smell never left. Our reservation was for one night and would not have stayed two. Only stayed the one because we were there to see The Eclipse and rooms were at a premium. I've stayed in worse places but most of those were in other countries. The staff was efficient and helpful-I think they are trying- but the building really needs an overhaul. Breakfast was as sparse as imaginable. We survived.
