* Regular Lunch price = $12 (this is what most people pay, the average meal, includes soup, rice, sides, everything but seafood)
* Regular lunch + seafood = $14.50
* Single trip $11 (perfect if you're in a hurry, make sure to tell your waiter you'd like to save $1.00, comes with soup and only one crab rangoon, no sides)
* Single trip plus seafood = $12
* Vegetarians = only $10 (make sure to tell your waiter you're vegetarian)

* Kids prices are high: $5 for under $5; $8 for 6-10; 11 & up adult prices
(I almost knocked it down to 4-stars because of the kids prices)

* Regular dinner = $13.50
* Regular dinner + seafood = $15
* Single trip = $11
* Single trip + seafood = $12
* Vegetarian = $11

* Kids prices (same as lunch): 5 for under $5; $8 for 6-10; 11 & up adult prices

Other things you need to know:
* Closed Sundays
* Friday & Saturday evenings get very busy
* Off-hours, including lunch, is a great time to go
* I don't see the point in ordering from the menu - try the mongolian! If you have specific tastes or a particular request, they will accommodate
* I've read comments about their hot & sour soup...yeah it's good, but it's nothing terribly special (you can buy it condensed in a can at the KC Asian Market at the City Market)

What's *is* special:
* On the mongolian, ask for recommendations on spices (they have a lot of options, most people don't know what their doing - just ask!! They can help you make it 100% better)
* The chinese sausage is really great
* Portobello mushrooms on the bar
* Tofu, beans, & lots of high protein veggie options on the bar
* Good seafood (add $1.50 to mongolian price)
* Unlimited crab rangoon, spring rolls, fruit, & dessert items with mongolian
* Very good beer & wine selection

They make the best hot & sour soup I’ve ever had. Sour & spicy. So delicious. The restaurant is dark and run down. The labels on the bbq items are worn & illegible or missing. The signs with instructions for making the sauce are wearing too. We were frequent customers at the one they closed up north but won’t be at this location.

Returned for a family birthday dinner. The options generally don't change, which you could see as good or bad, though the variety on the self-make buffet is broad enough that you could create a number of different flavors/dishes. Everyone in our group had a good time and a good meal. We'll be back again.

A colleague who simply loves Chinese food, who often invites me to go to Chinese restaurants with her, invited me to go to Gengis Khan. This restaurant is a Mongolian BBQ where diners pay a set price. This entitles them to a choice of soup, appetizers and a main course that consists of meat, fish and vegetable that the diner selects from a buffet and then delivers to the grill where the cooks prepare it on a large grill.
I wish I could say I thought the food was good, but it isn't. Like many other Asian restaurants in Kansas City, the food is mediocre. I could be spoiled because for many years I lived in the SF Bay area where Asian restaurants of all kinds are plentiful and the food of much better quality than any I have eaten in Kansas City.

Ate here with five other people who had been here before, including two who are ultra-regulars, so they were able to clue me in . . . "Mongolian Grill" dining isn't "intuitive" or at least not for me -- what DO you use for sauce when the meat is shrimp, clams, calamari, sashimi, and who knows what else? But it turned out great -- the experience of watching your bowl of whatever turn into great chow is fun!

Had sweet-and-sour soup and crab rangoon, too . . . nothing special but good. The main event -- all seafood and veggies -- was something I'd do again.

Friendly and humorous waitress helped the evening, too.
