Zona Rosa was our area of choice and this hotel put us 1.5 miles from there. Restaurants next door to the hotel were Waffle House, Ruby Tuesdays and Wendys. Down the road at Zona Rosa you will find several very good restaurant choices....Bo Lings, Outback, MiMi's Cafe, 54th St Grill, Bravo, Abuelos, Fat Fish Blue, Buffalo Wild Wings, Smokehouse BBQ, Stone Canyon Pizza, etc.

Our hotel room had two double beds and a pullout couch. It was very clean and stylish. The bathroom (toilet and tub) is quite small but again, very clean. The dressing area (vanity and closet) is well lit and large. The tv is huge and works well between the sleeping and living area.

The lobby area is nicely decorated and the front desk people were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. It tends to get a little overcrowded since there is only one way in and one way out of the breakfast area. Seating can be hard to come by. Try to go early or late. The breakfast gal said that 8am is usually the busiest time. The food offerings were the same each day of our stay, I tend to appreciate a little variety instead. Breakfast sandwiches...very good.

We came back late from Worlds of Fun and had a leak from our ceiling. They quickly moved us to another room and gave us $20 credit to use in the snack area. We were able to buy 6 cookies and 2 waters with our $20 credit. Expensive...but those cookies were amazing!

My sister and I do this trip anually with our girls. We are a group of 5. We normally stay at the Residence Inn KC Airport on Ambassador Dr which is very close to the Hyatt Place. We decided that next year we will return to the Residence Inn because we have more space in the hotel room and the beds are larger. (queens, instead of doubles) Also, we like the large lobby, breakfast area and variety of breakfast items (changes daily) at the Residence Inn. I don't hesitate to suggest the Hyatt Place to anyone, however, the Residence Inn works better for our particular group.

I was in Kansas City in July of 2012. I got this hotel on priceline for $70. I knew it was a good price for a new "mid range" hotel in the Hyatt line.

I was really happy to see they had a in house burger/wrap type restaurant. A nice little lounge that had a nice happy hour. Made a tired salesperson stay put and have a in room meal.

The room was a steal for what I paid. It was sort of a suite style but not as big. I had a 42" real HD tv with plenty of HD stations to choose from. Beds were soft and comfy. Very clean.

Service was very freindly. I beleive that this hotel might be very new and they seemed to be working out some bugs. But it was so minor the rest really made up for it. Parking was good not great. A side note to hotels. Make parking easy for tired guests. Sometimes they seem more concerned about having access to theri own vans and people. Remember, the guests pay all the bills. Still a minor issue.

I would strongly recommend this great little hotel especially on a pricelien or hotwire for about $75 before all the fees and taxes.

My review is based on a one night stay. First I'd like to say how nice all the staff was. The shuttle service was great even though I only used it to and from the airport. The breakfast was good, your typical hotel breakfast but if you want somethig more filling there is a waffle house right behind the pool. The rooms were clean and they provided toothpaste. The room was a good size and the pillows were very comfortable. I even enjoyed their tiny bar which is staffed by the same people who run the front desk which seems to run very efficiently. I will probably stay at the Hyatt Place next time I'm in town for business it was a pleasant stay.

Overall we really liked this place. The rooms were clean and enough space for the family. Breakfast was great, pool was good. Location was about 20-30 minutes from most big attractions in KC. Schlitterbauhn was the farthest drive for us and it was just over 20 minutes, Ocean of fun was just over 15 minutes. We could get to downtown in leas than 20 minutes, finding parking down there takes longer than the drive to get there.

The hotel was quiet, I never heard anyone else around and we were right by the elevators and ice machine.

Room Tip: book well in advance at the Hyatt website, you'll find the best prices that way.

Stayed for three nights with our sons. Very clean and quiet. Great location for shopping, going to ball games, eating BBQ and waterparks. Staff was great! Outdoor pool was great too----this is super for May-Sept. but would not be so great for winter in KC!
