We booked this hotel for a convention, and were traveling in a large group. Picked 3 2-bedroom suites to accommodate everyone. When we arrived we were greeted by Alique who was super friendly and helpful (imagine having to check 16 people into 3 rooms when everyone wants to pay separately) And we went upstairs. The hotel is only about a year old so everything is really nice and new. Our housekeeper Rocio was super sweet and even left us towel animals a couple of times! Some of our guests spent time at the pool and even the lounge downstairs! Breakfast was adequate for a hotel breakfast and the coffee was hot! This hotel is about a block from the FREE trolly through main street, and about 3 blocks from the convention center, but an easy walk. All of the employees were great! Especially Alique, Toy & Jas at the front desk and the guy who worked in the lounge was also great! Would definitely stay again on a repeat trip to Kansas city!

We spent over 200. for a night here. The room looked great. The bed was comfortable....... the AM breakfast was better than other Marriotts we have stayed at......then the next morning ...

we found we had been drinking out of a glass cup that someone else had used before from the chap stick impressions around the rim. It's the very glass I took out of the cabinet late at night, assuming it was clean. When we went to make up the sofa bed my son had been sleeping on there was popcorn, and trash all underneath the sofa and to make matters worse, when we put the cushion back on the sofa there seemed to be an "late night entertainment" stain on the cushion :-/ we all had to use the restroom only to find there was just 1 roll of toilet paper and no extras. We had to use all the Kleenex and later went downstairs to use the rest room.

We were checking out and the valet told us our tire popped. The valet service had ran the car tires up on a curb (or something) and damaged 2 tires. The manager of the valet service was exceptional and polite. They did replace the two tires.

My main complaint is the lax housekeeping for such an expensive room to stay in.

A four-night stay plus a large get-together in a ground-floor banquet hall left me with an overall favorable impression. The location can't be beat: right next to Kansas City's free streetcar and in easy walking distance of many good restaurants. The building is spanking new and clean, with a nondescript exterior but crisp, contemporary decor inside the spacious suites. Breakfast is a big cut above the standard fare in hotels along interstate highways: fresh fruit, andouille sausage one morning, real eggs and hash browns, walnuts, almonds, and dried cranberries for your granola or oatmeal. The staff were fun, eager to please, helpful with advice, and unpretentious. The downside of this hotel being new is that some kinks in the policies and procedures have not yet been worked out. Valets descend on you when you drive up, and eagerly park your car for $24 per day. Nice guys, they'll even call you "Boss." You have to find out for yourself that you can park in the uncrowded lot across the street for $5. On weekends, you can park for free on the street. Another kink: our suite wasn't ready when promised, we had to wait a good hour, so the desk clerk sent us to the bar for complimentary drinks. Soon enough, I imagine, this hotel will be running smoothly. For now, guests can still sense the excitement of a newly assembled staff in a well-equipped new enterprise, determined to become one of the city's premier hotels.

We held our family reunion on July 8, 2017 with 50 people. From start to finish it was flawless. Our group coordinator from the hotel helped us every step of the way. Room blocks, food, beverage, and convention space was outstanding. The staff was absolutely terrific. They checked us in and mentioned the must see places nearby and to make sure we used the street car outside. It is free and takes you from Union Station all the way to the City Market. Our rooms were clean and all amenities were in working order. We especially liked the tv as it was a smart tv with Hulu, YouTube, etc. Power and Light District is a short walk or if you use the street car it is one stop from the hotel. There are plenty of great restaurants within walking distance or using the street car. You’ve got to check out the Freight House. It is a restored railroad warehouse with fantastic restaurants including Jack Stack BBQ. After checking in we parked our car on Thursday afternoon and didn't start it until Sunday morning at check out. Bottom line - this hotel is in a terrific location and it is relatively new so it is very modern.

This Residence Inn is located in the heart of downtown Kansas City. It's a new property that is half a Marriott Residence Inn and half a Courtyard Inn. It is within walking distance to many restaurants and nightlife establishments including the Power and Light district. The free streetcar line is located on the block behind the hotel. The rooms are very modern with large windows. I had a studio room which included a kitchen, sofa and large bathroom. In the lobby there is a coffee/sandwich counter were you can purchase food and drink. The breakfast was located in a nice large area with plenty of space. Breakfast included many options from eggs to cereal and much more. There was a media room with pod areas for semi-private work. Parking is limited to $24 valet or find your own in a local lot. I was there on a busy Saturday. The valets were so busy they couldn't keep up with the demand. They were very nice and took good care of my car. Negatives (which I reported to the front desk) was the plugs in the room were hard to use. There is a plastic cover that keeps you from pushing your cord into the plug. I had to try many plugs in the room to find one that I could use. Also, the air in my room was way too warm. I had to step into the hallway to cool down. The front desk said they would report this to maintenance. Like many hotels in big cities, the price for this property can be a bit high depending on events going on in the area. It's a very nice hotel and I would stay here again.
