“Great review”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 July 2012

We were very pleased with the cleanliness and friendliness of this hotel. We are retired and travel frequently. We had taken our daughter and grandsons with us and reserved two rooms in the new "2nd" tower. It wasn't finished yet so we were given upgrades without any request. Baseboards were even clean!! Thank you Grand Oaks! We will return....

Room Tip: The brand new "2nd" tower wasn't open yet, so they upgraded our rooms without requesti...

The Grand Oaks is centrally located in Branson. You can pick up all the alternative routes so you do not have to get on 76 (the main street) except for the portion of 76 where you need to be for shows, etc. The room we had was in the oldest building as the new one was not complete yet. It was close to the indoor pool. The smell of chlorine was strong at different times of the day in the hallway. The room was small, having 1 queen Bed and a pull out couch. Refrigerator, Microwave & coffeepot was in the room. Our microwave never worked. We reported this the night we arrived & after 6 days it was never fixed or replaced. They were nice enough to let us use the one in the breakfast area. Breakfast was either eggs (instant) and sausage links or bisquits & gravy (also instant). Cold cereals, oatmeal, bagels, toast (the toaster had problems). The coffee was great. The room was clean and fresh towels put out daily. We got this room through a package deal. It worked for what we needed. It was always quiet, even when people were coming back from some of the late activities that go on. The beds are new and we slept great. There is a Walmart around the corner so if you need anything it is close. There are 2 mini golf courses down the street. The Titanic musuem is fairly close as well. Will stay with Grand Oaks again when we go back but will ask for the new building as I believe they told me the rooms will be bigger.

We and another couple stayed at the Grand Oaks for five nights last week. From previous reviews and information/photos on the hotels website we were all looking forward to our stay. We had also picked this hotel from a few options provided with a package deal purchased through the tourism board.

First off let me say that the hotel was nice and clean and the beds were very comfy. I even liked the pillows and I NEVER like hotel pillows! The staff was friendly and helpful. The only thing that was disappointing was the breakfast. They alternated between biscuits and gravy and scrambled eggs. I didn't try the biscuits so can't say if they were any good or not, but the eggs were just okay. The pancake machine is at the end of the counter and was creating a problem with so many people waiting to get pancakes that no one could get to the rest of the hot food. And they weren't worth the wait. There were two toasters and neither of them worked very well.

Overall we had a good stay at the Grand Oaks and I would recommend it to others. The location was fantastic being just off the strip. It made getting around to shows and area attractions very easy. We also enjoyed the pool and hot tub.

We booked this hotel with the Silver Dollar City/White Water Package. We did have other choices of hotels, but were convinced by the promise of a completely new room in their second building that was supposed to be completed about a week prior to our arrival. We also liked the thought of a hot breakfast included and an outdoor pool for our daughter.
When we checked in we were told the rennovations on their 2nd building were not complete and we were staying in their main, old, outdated building. Since it was already paid for, we couldn't change hotels. We were told the beds/linens were brand new and the rooms updated. I will give them the beds, but the rest was a mess. There was an old smell in the room, wallpaper peeling from walls and recepticles that were not fixed to the wall properly. Even the ironing board had a cover that was too big and further wrinkled the clothes! At least the beds were comfortable-right? The best was the soap dispensers on the wall by the sink and in the shower-like a gas station. You will have to pay extra if you want conditioner or lotion...
Breakfast was horrible! They have an automatic pancake machine where you have to wait in line, press a button, wait about 5 min and 2 pancakes fall on your plate. Never seen anything like it-kind of weird. The eggs must have been instant and they really don't refill the bread and english muffins provided at the beginning of the morning. The dining area was packed and food was a tier above disgusting. We wound up going out to breakfast the remainder of our stay.
Last and final issue was the outdoor pool. I never really understood where the outdoor pool was. I think it was outside of the 2nd building we were supposed to stay. The staff made it sound like it was useable, but I would have no idea how to get to it. Luckily our daughter was so tired from White Water and Silver Dollar City it really wasn't an issue. Just a disappointment.
We wound up leaving the night before we were supposed to check out. Since everything was already paid for in the package we purchased, the staff didn't even ask if the stay was good. Obviously their attitudes match the accomodations. Next time we will make sure to go to a higher caliber hotel and not participate in "package deals". This is one instance of you get what you pay for...

Room Tip: If you have to stay here, make sure you stay in the newly rennovated rooms-if they are ever complete...

Courteous and very accomodating. Always clean. Good breakfast bar.

Were called away on previous visit due to family medical issue and were immediately credited for remainder of reservation time. ( no 24 hr. notification mentioned)

Have stayed there since and will stay there only.

Recommend to EVERYONE !!

Room Tip: Have never had a bad room
