A party of 12 of us went for lunch today. Never again!! We booked beforehand and preordered our food. We waited one and half hours for our lunches to arrive, they were mainly salads!! People were casually walking in and getting served before us.
We complained and apparently a chef had not turned up! The manager was not available.
It was all dealt with really badly, we did get a discount but would not go again. Shame.
Our lunch was very relaxing as we were regaled by a lady singing in the corner, which was actually very nice.
We shared a meze platter, which wasn't bad, and a garlic and mozzarella flatbread. Service was good
... yes you read that right!
Came here for a spot of lunch for two . It was busy but we were politely welcomed and seated quickly. Unfortunately the gas was off so no omelettes or nachos, these things happen though. Order was taken promptly and service did come with a smile . I had the soup from the specials menu... very nice and my other half had the meze platter... this was a problem. Half way through her meal she found something crunchy in her food that shouldn't have been there... when she looked through the rocket and lettuce leafs she discovered mud and grit! ... it obviously hadn't been washed which in our opinion is unacceptable... MUD and GRIT !!
We called the waitress over and she acknowledged it and apologised straight away... I asked for the bill but said that I wouldn't be paying for the meze... she came back quickly and said they wouldn't be asking for any payments.., apologised again and asked if we'd give them another try. In fairness staff were great but unfortunately we won't be back. We'll stick to salernoes in Oundle.
We decided to visit for our 18th Anniversary lunch.
First impressions of the bistro was how empty it was.
Shown to table. Waitress approached us three times within 10 minutes to take our order. We ordered are starters and mains. Waitress soon returned to say that my main coarse of veal wasn't available. I chose to have the stuffed chicken, which was the only other main meat coarse.
The stuffed chicken was extremely dry with no taste and barely no stuffing. The chicken was then coated with tomato sauce, which they use for there pizza's.
The dish was served with cheap commercial potato wedges and a so called salad, which ONLY consisted of a handful of mixed salad leafs. No dressing was offered.
Basically a total waste of money
