We were eager to visit PM after a recent article about the new owners. We had also been told by several people PM was the "fanciest" restaurant in Jackson.
The restaurant does have valet parking. We chuckled b/c the "parking" is a strip in the middle of the street. It was raining, and perhaps they have parking further away in sunny weather, however, some of the passing traffic blared and cut it a bit close.
Onward...while pleasant, I would not use the term "fancy." People were in attire ranging from t-shirts and shorts to a dress and slacks with a polo. The servers had a friendly, casual interactive style.
The Oysters Rockefeller was one of the best we have ever encountered. Our only suggestion was some of the diced onions were still a bit raw, consequently biting. The presentation was ooh aahh and overall it was great.
The grilled artichoke was swimming in olive oil. Great flavor, just a bit too much oil.
My husband had the shrimp scampi special with squid ink pasta and proclaimed it very tasty. We ended the night with tiramisu, also well-executed by the kitchen.
PM is (to date) the best food we've had since moving to Jackson. With the talent of the new ownership, we hope they find their groove and kick it up a notch.
