I was booked here for an overnight stay due to battling flight issues. THE BRIGHTEST JOY of my frustrated travels primarily due to the service experience delivered by the staff!
First let’s start with APRIL, the Front Desk Agent who is an angel walking on earth. Her level of sincerity, care for you as a guest and just making the impossible possible is a breath of fresh air. April focuses on what she CAN DO to HELP! I wish I could take her along with me on all my travels; she is TOP NOTCH!
Then the driver who transported from the airport to the hotel and back is PHENOMENAL also. I am sorry that I dis not get his name; he was super friendly especially with a pick up after 1am and just immensely helpful. If this is what Southern Hospitality looks, sounds and feels like, I am all for it.
As for the hotel itself, it is “aging” in general and can use refreshing or remodeling. Making intentional changes such as the following: replace front lobby furniture especially when you can visibly see the aging; in the room - replace or deep clean the carpet, clean or replace the furniture and replace the aged porcelain bathtubs or at least replace with a modern shower.
That said, if you are more focused on exceptional service from a caring and friendly staff, you have found the best option in Gulfport that is 3 minutes from the airport. I was only here for 1 night due to flight issues trying to get back home. I arrived to Gulfport super frustrated but was smiling due to the amazing smiles of service from April!
