Absolutely Phenomenal Accomodations! The proximity to downtown Winona is mind blowing. Beautiful view with cute staff. COLOR TV! Would recommend it to anyone who is staying in the greater Winona area!!!!

Room Tip: Rooms toward the highway provide soothing sounds at 3 am

Stayed at Sugar Loaf as work was being done on my home. Shawti, the owner is very courteous and helpful. Motel is older, but immaculate. Bring your own shampoo and hair dryer as the motel is basic, but the affordability more than makes up for lack of amenities.

Room Tip: rooms by the Mcdonalds restaurant.

We were on a motorcycle ride from Duluth to southeast Iowa, and chose this motel because of the good price and good reviews. It worked out well. The rooms are dated but very clean and quiet, even though it's near the highway. I felt safe here, and it served us well for a one-night stay. We ate at an Italian restaurant at a nearby motel, and the food was great. A nearby convenience store provided anything else we needed for food and beverage.

Stayed at the Sugarloaf because my truck broke down. It needed a two day repair. There is a 24 hour Kwok trip and Perkins and McDonald's all right in front of the motel. There is shopping across the street.
The housekeeper kept busy going back and forth, but she was the only one, so it just showed how serious she was about her work. It showed, the room was clean and smelled nice.

The owner is always onsite, and gives prompt, kind service.
