I have been going to Cosettas since I was a little girl. I love the deli and hot foods. Everything always tastes amazing. The grocery area is packed with all kinds of fun imported goodies. The desert area is newer but has some super delicious options. If you havent been, GO!!! Location isnt always ideal during busy times but they offer free parking.. and the food is worth it.

Cossetta Alimentari is a perfect destination for anyone who loves real Italian cuisine, or just enjoys great food at a good price. Whether you eat in (300+ seats) or take out, you will always get the finest Italy has to offer.

I eat here regularly and have yet to find anything I don't like. The ingredients they use are fresh and perfectly put together. Their prosciutto is sharp and crispy, their many, many salads are to die for and their pizza delicious and truly Italian. On my last visit, I had their Pollo arrosto, an herb roasted chicken, shell pasta, capers, celery in a creamy garlic dressing, with a large sausage slice. It came in at less than $10.

The only thing to be careful about is if there is a big event at the X-cel center (Minnesota Wild, High School Hockey Tournament, concert, etc) While you will be able to get a seat with little problem, getting your food (it's cafeteria style) can take quite a bit of time. So, if you're going to an event, get there early, get your food and then just enjoy the people watching. (You won't be nudged to leave.)

Shopping here is like being back in Firenze! High quality local and imported items of all things wonderfully Italian. The Gelatto is to die for! Before the massive renovation, this place was IT for purchasing authentic items. Now, in the twin cities it is a glamorous experience! The upper level decks of the restaurant have amazing views. They even serve gluten free pasta that is delicious! I know! Sacrilege in most Italian shops and frowned upon. The Cosetta family has embraced and perfected this niche.
You can walk from the Science Museum, Excel Center and Ordway.

I've eaten at Cosetta more times than I can count. As a frequent business traveler to downtown St Paul, this restaurant is my go-to for easy solo takeout that I also happen to love. It's hard to go wrong with the ala carte makeup of this unique restaurant. A trip through the line can yield a variety of delicious salads, pasta dishes, pizza, and more. The line can get very long before Wild games or other big events, but it tends to move pretty quickly. They have outstanding lasagna, and I typically either grab a cannoli for the road, or I'll pop into their pasticceria/gelateria and grab a cup of pistachio gelato (it's pronounced pis-STAHK-yo - get it right ;-). You can't go wrong with Cossetta. There's a reason they've been around for more than a hundred years.
