Been here before but it had been a while. We went on a Thursday night at six pm. Even though early the place was buzzing. We recognized the owner right away. He's always there to greet and help out as needed. I love going to places where the owner is around. We decided on the $35 course tasting menu. It was wonderful. A delicious potato soup, a to die for garlic snails crostini thing. A simple salad. An amazing ravioli dish and a great dessert. The snails, pasta and dessert were awesome. The owner checked in often and was a pleasure. Go there!

My friend and I decided to try Sanctuary while on a weekend visit to Minneapolis, and it exceeded both of our expectations in every way.
The restaurant occupies a wonderful historic building with a great atmosphere. Their menu is fairly small but has something for everyone. The chef has a remarkable way of putting his own spin on each dish to make it feel like you're eating something truly unique.
Started my meal with the beef cheek tacos (which were superb), while my friend had a very nice Caesar salad. For entrees I had the duck with mole, my friend had the venison special. Both were outstanding. We had great conversations with our waitress, who recommended a very reasonably priced Argentinian Malbec to us which was also excellent. We even stayed for dessert!
I would recommend Sanctuary to anyone and everyone. Cannot wait to come back to Minneapolis.

Had dinner here with another couple. All four of our entrees and two appetizers were very good. Tried the alpaca but it was chewy but the presentation was great. Nice wine and cocktail selections, beautiful restaurant. Bit pricey but you get what you pay for! Would go back again.

This hidden gem is located near the new stadium and turned out to be a pleasant surprise! From the five-course Chef's tasting menu, to the wine, ambiance and conversation, my evening alone was lovely. Also impressive was the fact that no small detail was overlooked; everything was perfect.

Start with the soup. Other appetizers look great but we can never get past the tartlets.
Always an interesting steak, perhaps fish or duck or rabbit. And finish with the superb tres leches.
