“The best brisket north of New Braunfels”

This is a little hole in the wall barbeque joint on the far north end of Minneapolis. These folks are doing it, and they're doing it well. The ribs and rib tips are pretty good, but the brisket is as good as I've ever had anywhere.

You can get a sandwich for $7; $9 gets you a larger portion and a side dish. Plates have two side dishes and run $10-15. Ordering just a meat, like a pound of brisket, or a rack of ribs will still cost under $20 and includes a side dish. There are two special features: Firebox Fries and the Firebox feast.

The feast includes a rack of ribs, a pound of brisket or pulled pork, and eight chicken wings. There are several sides included as well as Texas Toast. We fed four hungry adults and had enough left over for three more meals, at a price of $57. This is a bargain.

Firebox Fries are a large portion of good quality fries, topped with melted cheese, sauce and lots of chopped ends and pieces. At $7, this is very filling and tasty. You can add more meat for $2 more. This is so, so good, and you just have to tell your conscience to shut up and enjoy itself.

Sides include pretty good greens, good fries, excellent sweet potatoes, and very tasty mac and cheese. There is also sticky rice. I know of no other barbecue joint in the world with sticky rice. Fountain drinks are available. Sometimes, on weekends, they run out of stuff, so order early.

This place is well worth driving out of your way. Be sure to order an extra pound of brisket to take home. You won't be sorry.

An interesting BBQ joint run by an Asian family. Ribs and tips and chicken wings are well prepared. The brisket is divine. The collard greens are a good side dish too. Prices are reasonable to on the high side. In door seating and take out. Family friendly.

Stopped at this place on the way to see our new granddaughter. Got an order to go.....we had never been here before. Small place, very clean. We got the BBQ, macaroni and cheese and coleslaw for everyone and they were delicious! Service was very fast and also, extremely pleasant! We will definitely be back soon!

3 of us from the office were on our way to a seminar. Stopped into this gem for lunch. Takeout orders were going out quickly, we had time to kill so we ate in the dining room and our food was out soon after sitting down. 3 meat plates, 1 brisket, 1 pulled pork and 1 ribs. Everything was hot, tender and smoked perfectly. The bbq sauce was a great addition not overpowering the star of the meal, that meat! Great variety of sides and there was no let down there either. Service was great, employees were polite and checked in during the meal. That doesn't happen at a lot of places anymore. Don't make it to this area often but when I'm up here it will be hard not to stop in.

This place is amazing and a true integration of the cultures that have came to be in the Minneapolis area. The BBQ is outstanding. The ribs are meaty and delicious. The brisket is glory at its' finest. The Mac and Cheese is the real deal. The secret here is to get the sticky rice and throw that stuff on your BBQ, it just works the starchy goodness with the fatty/sweet/salty meat is amazing. Don't go here if you are a vegan, you will cry. This place never has a wait, and always has the best BBQ. Try it, you will enjoy it.
