“An Experience Not Just a Place to Stay”
Reviewed 6 June 2014 for a stay in May 2014

Cynthia and her husband have created this amazing retreat. There was so much thought put into the Loft, down to every little detail. They have made a place to stay into an experience. We walked in to Zen music, homemade bread, fresh eggs, flowers from the garden and yukatas on the bed. Oh and I almost forgot chocolate! With all of those things in addition to the bathtub and patio I was able to feel refreshed and relaxed. An unforgettable way to spend our anniversary!

After teaching in Japan for 25 years, we thought the Loft would be a great way to meet new people and share our love of the Japanese culture. We also wanted to stay in touch with the younger generation and this young couple fulfilled that!

“Beautiful tranquil space with an amazing Jacuzzi!”
Reviewed 22 March 2014 for a stay in March 2014

So we walked in, Cindy set us up with freshly baked bread (had little cranberries and was so soft!) and a dozen amish eggs, fresh cheese and crackers and let us get settled--we cranked up the REIKI relax CD and then I saw the jacuzzi, ready to take me to away from the keg standing undergrad spring breaks of yore into a new place of TOTAL RELAXATION!

She was great about always answering the phone while we were there but never bothered us and basically left us to our own devices which was great--we went to another bed and breakfast and we were woken up super early every day and had no privacy (so annoying!)--what a relief to have time to ourselves. Highly recommend if you want to get away for a weekend and unwind!!!

TIPS
Bring some food as there is a fridge and stovetop and the town doesn't have a lot of good food options
Get honey from down the road (honey sign a mile down 52) -- we got to meet and go into an amish family home, was really an interesting experience and the honey is amazing!
Bring movies/books! Not much to do in town, this isn't about nightlife it's about relaxing!

I was so pleased that Peter found the Amish honey farm and visitors often remark about the friendliness of the local Amish (4 brothers are shingling our house as I write this and we consider many of them to be great friends.) The Amish community welcomes visitors!
The Asahi Loft remained very busy this past bitterly cold winter and these guests were here during a bleak midweek with some places (Niagara Cave) closed for the season. BUT spring WILL come and with it a new assortment of things to do. I do like to stress that doing a jigsaw puzzle and meditating might be just what you need.

“Perfect Getaway - peaceful, warm, inviting. Highly Recommended!”
Reviewed 2 March 2014 for a stay in February 2014

My husband and I stayed at the Loft over Valentines weekend. We were greeted warmly by Cindy upon our arrival. We had fresh bread waiting for us upon our arrival. Also wonderful banana bread for my husband's birthday. The Loft lacks nothing! From the wonderful food provided by Cindy (breads, homemade jams, organic eggs, cheese and crackers, chocolate, ice cream). Everything is well thought out -- relaxing music, state of the art tub, and the warm fireplace. We loved the Japanese décor and robes. I would highly recommend this Loft to anyone searching for a get-away to a wonderful part of Minnesota. There is much to do in this area -- we visited wineries, and went cross country skiing and snow shoeing. We definitely will be back to stay. Thank you Cindy for your warmth and hospitality

These guests had quite the "winter driving experience" and from their review you can sense that they really embrace their surroundings and make the best of a Minnesota winter. I received so many requests for Valentine's weekend, I am so pleased you found us first!

It really was a treacherous drive for Susan and Isaiah, I was very relieved to see them drive in our driveway.

“A renewed perspective”
Reviewed 24 February 2014 for a stay in February 2014

With a relentless winter raging on we decided to schedule a get-a-way, an attempt to uplift our perspective. We couldn’t have chosen a better place. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted by Cindy, the proprietress, we found her to be a lovely person, very welcoming, friendly, and totally concerned for the comfort and pleasure of her guests. The loft was very beautifully decorated, well taken care of (it looked brand new) and squeaky clean. Pictures don’t do it justice. Prior to our trip we scheduled massages from Julie to be done right at the loft shortly after our arrival. Julie was qualified, professional and met all our “kneads”. It was a perfect way to begin a relaxing weekend, a luxury that must be experienced. We can’t say enough about this loft, from the air-jet tub to the cozy fireplace. You will unwind and feel refreshed. We had only one problem….two nights was not long enough! PS – the homemade bread and rhubarb jam was a super nice touch (delicious).

The weather really was "frightful" and I was expecting a cancellation, but these guests were determined to not let the weather spoil their getaway. In fact perhaps the terrible winter has made the Loft even more valuable as a tranquil respite. I always appreciate reviews from my guests. Thank you.
