Description: Classic Italian dinning and Wine Spectator award winner since 1999 Bellisio’s restaurant conjures up images of highly skilled chefs, fine wines, superb service, and fresh Italian food. And while all this is most certainly true, one must not forget that Bellisio’s is above all an experience. An exceptional dining experience, to be precise, but one that takes place in a casual atmosphere reminiscent of the quaint eateries and wine bars of the Italian countryside. And no wonder. The experience is fashioned after the small village of Bellisio, Italy, home to the owner’s ancestry. Imported direct from Italy are the beauty, comfort, romance, and glorious recipes. Specialty dishes include perfectly prepared pasta dishes using the finest imported and local ingredients; fennel roasted rack of pork; homemade risotto dishes; grilled steaks; shrimp; seafood; and a fresh catch feature every day. All served with a world class wine menu to match. Bellisio’s has received Wine Spectator’s prestigious “Best of Award of Excellence” every year since we opened in 1999. It’s a simple, colorful, elegant, and exceptional dining experience.

Bellisio’s manages the neat trick of being simultaneously casual and upscale. It’s the best place on Canal Park for a special occasion or a romantic dinner. The interior is dark, with a mural of an Italian village on one wall and floor-to-ceiling wine racks on the others. We had shrimp scampi, walleye milanese, and a lobster appetizer, all of which were excellent, especially the lobster. The service was attentive and friendly. The wine list is curious: it features several pages of Italian wines and a handful of choices from the rest of the known universe. Don’t come here looking for a California merlot or a New Zealand sauvignon blanc. Just pick an Italian.

Great deal on wine and apps....we each ordered 2 glasses of wine....happy hour ended in 15 minutes.....and a couple of apps. Dinner for two on a budget. Nice atmosphere, polite, helpful waitstaff and a great selection of wine. Next time we go with a bigger appetite and try a meal.

Ate here for lunch. Friendly staff and great service. Food was pretty good...my husband said his pasta had a great taste but wasn't hot. My sandwich and fries were good. Gordon Ramsey needs to makeover this interior tho....

All four of us enjoyed a lovely dinner here, but two of us had the fennel roasted rack of pork and agreed that it was probable the best pork dish either of us had ever eaten. The wine list is very large and even the choices by the glass are quite extensive. I had a wonderful rather dry Alsatian Riesling that complemented the pork perfectly.

Service was also very good. Would return in a minute.

We are regulars here and have both consistently good service and good food. If we are out and on a whim, we will turn here, because we have discovered that excellent customer service means just as much to us as the food itself.
