“Recommended place to stay in Romney”
Reviewed 5 September 2016 for a stay in July 2016

We managed to snatch this lovely bungelow at the last minute and were very grateful to find it was excellent and well placed for a beach holiday in Romney with all the attractions close by particulary the beach sea view and the minature railway.

“Excellent location”

We had a fantastic week in this lovely little bungalow - really brilliantly located for the beach. In fact it is just across the (not busy) road , so there are uninterrupted views of the sea from the huge windows which span right across the front of the sitting room. All in all it was a very comfortable place to say with a well equipped kitchen, and comfortable beds.
We had lovely days out, riding on the miniature railway which runs right past the end of the back garden, and visiting the lighthouse at Dymchurch, and really cute local towns and villages. Even the weather was perfect!

“Perfect”

We were looking for somewhere relaxing to stay near the coast and this was perfect. You couldn't ask for better views of the sea and the place was very clean and comfortable. There was plenty of room for all six of us and the train at the end of the garden was fantastic. We will be booking again for next year!

The property is right on the beach and ideally situated to visit lots of places. The Romney Hythe and Dymchurch little railway passes behind the property and is a great day out with children. Rye is nearby and Dover and Hastings are both within reach. The property is clean and well equipped and just right for a family.

“The Perfect Break”

We wanted an easy, relaxing but interesting half term break for the family and this was a perfect rental for us.
We found the house clean, cosy and welcoming. It has a large living/dining room to the front with long windows giving lovely light in the room and a unique skyline to greet you in the morning. Very relaxing and a perfect space for us all to 'hang out'. The kitchen is well fitted out and was spotless and adjacent to the dining area, so very easy to work in and serve up from. The three bedrooms are to the back and fitted out with all the family needed to snuggle up in what wasn't the warmest of half terms to be by the sea.
A special feature of the house is that it has a small gauge stream train light railway running past the bottom of the garden (The famous - I now realise! - Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway). Great entertainment for the kids, and cause of much excitement and regular expeditions down to the fence to wave this tiny train by (and no unsociable running hours, I am pleased to report!).
From the front of the house you walk across Coast Drive straight onto the beach. And if you want variety, there are lots of neighboring beaches within a short drive along the coast, non of them busy. That's the thing we found about Romney Marsh - the beaches, the pubs, the fantastic Port Lympne Zoo and even the lovely town of Rye aren't too busy. It is a very relaxing place to have a break. I would certainly recommend this house for a holiday home and a perfect base from which to explore this relatively unknown part of England.
