I’ve stayed here several times and the Beachway never disappoints. This not a cookie cutter hotel, it has old time character. Bring some snacks and enjoy sitting on the deck. The kitchenette is a definite plus, with a full sized fridge. We were steps away from the chain ferry which was very charming. Be aware that the ferry does not run on a windy day. I’ll be back next year.

Very friendly, accommodating staff. Beds could have been more comfortable and could here footsteps in room above, but nothing unbearable. Rooms were clean and having such great pool access was awesome. Loved the short walk to the beach (but be careful - no sidewalks, scary with little ones).

This hotel is located across the river to Saugatuck which is fine when the passenger chain ferry is running. It closes for weather reasons and depends on the availability of the students who operate it. Otherwise you have to use your car to drive around the river. The hotel has dated decor and the rooms are small and crammed with large dated furniture.

The staff are friendly and helpful.

The resort exceeded my expectation! It was a very lovely place to stay..the complimentary donuts and coffee in the morning was just right to get us going for the day. The staff were very helpful and friendly and we had a fast check-in. The view from the hotel is gorgeous. Very highly recommended coz it has a very good location when I say very good it means it’s literally walking distance from downtown, from oval beach, from chain ferry, from baldhead park. Very clean place, friendly staff and owner.

We usually come to Saugatuck several time throughout the summer for a quick weekend getaway and have driven past the Beachway Resort numerous times. We always thought it might be nice to stay there seeing they have a decent size pool which is especially great this time of year when it's hot but the water at the beach is not yet warm enough to swim in. We stayed here for one night and overall were happy with everything. The property is slightly outdated but it has that summer Michigan charm with flowers everywhere and is quaint. Our room was on the first floor overlooking the pool with a little communal deck area with tables and chairs. We were at first a little worried that being right outside the pool would get loud in the morning, but that was not the case. The room itself was just an average standard room but we didn't spend too much time inside. I believe they have different types of accommodations of all kinds of sizes that even have kitchens but we didn't need more than just a regular room. We were also thinking that with there being much more people than pool chairs that it would be difficult to get space at the pool but that didn't end up being a problem either. People sort of seemed to come in shifts so there was always a lounge chair available. The property is located well in that it's just down the road from Oval Beach. You could technically probably walk to the beach from there as it's close in distance but the road that leads to it is a driving road only and it didn't look like there was a path to walk on if you wanted to walk there. Perhaps there was another way we didn't see but the distance itself is very close. it's also a few steps away from the chain ferry which will take you across the river into the main Saugatuck area where Butler street is. This is convenient so if you don't necessarily need to drive around and / or look for parking if you want to go by Butler street, etc.. One other note is that this is a kid friendly hotel and there were a number of families with children and the shallow end of the pool was mostly filled with kids during the day. If you have children this is a good place for that, if you want a relaxing weekend without kids this might not be the place. Overall it was a nice stay for a weekend getaway.
