Just spent 4 nights in a very comfortable lodge on the golf course. Lovely setting over looking the fishing lake, watching the family of Canada geese wander around.
The club house was a big bonus, very nice inside with decent food. The cost of the food was reasonable as well. We tried to find nice pubs and restaurants in local villages but only found loads of takeaways. We were very disappointed as we do like to try different places to eat out.
We visited Cambridge and Ely, we found them both to be fantastic. The lodges are in a good location to explore the area. Also went for a stroll along the 40 foot drain or fen, well that was beautiful. We didn't have to use the car as you walk through the golf course onto the fen. Peaceful apart from birdie song which we thoroughly enjoyed.
If you aren't too bothered about pubs and restaurants then you will be very happy with the lodge and hot tub.

Just had a fab weekend at the Old Nene lodges to celebrate my sisters birthday. Cosy lodge with all the amenities you'd need for a self catering stay (apart from a tin opener which the staff in the restaurant were happy to lend when asked).

We stayed in the Upwood Lodge which consisted of a living area/kitchen with dining table, bathroom with waterfall shower, large king size room and twin room. King size room had doors leading outside with a view of the driving range. Also decking out the front with table & chairs. We noticed that a majority of the other lodges had hot tubs too.

We didn't use the bar/restaurant so cannot comment but we did note that they shut quite early at 8pm.

A short few minute drive will take you to Ramsey where you can find a couple of pubs, shops and takeaways. There is a Tesco and petrol station approx 5 minutes away. Other than that there's not much nearby but we ventured out into Huntingdon & Peterborough which are 20-25 mins away by car.

All in all this was a great weekend in a peaceful location and I would highly recommend the lodges! Thanks for a wonderful stay.

I think the only disappointment was the restaurant was closed. Having gone up with other family members and for a birthday, it made sense to eat there and not have to worry about driving anywhere. However it was closed for a private function. Coupled with the fact that taxis don't seem to exist in the evenings, left a bit of a dampener. As someone mentioned, you are out in the sticks so to speak. Ramsey is not that far but to go out for a meal you will have to drive yourself.
The lodge itself was fantastic. Partner and I had a 1 bedroom lodge and you couldn't fault it. Yes they are still fairly new but it's decorated to a high standard, very comfy and everything you need (maybe a Hoover) We almost went for the hot tub option but for £100 for the weekend didn't seem worth it. Glad we didn't as you can only use it twice per day for 15 mins each. Never experienced that before.
It is geared up for golf of course and the lodges are an extra, yes they are close together but it's no problem.
Would I stay again? Absolutely! They are self catering but advertise a restaurant and as previously mentioned they haven't got the balance quite right. It is a good base to explore the area but just be aware of the points mentioned.

Myself and my partner stayed in one of the two bedroom lodges with family and was comfortable throughout. A reasonable sized kitchen but lacking in utensils and other associated items. The settee / sofa was OK but that's it !!! The air extraction in the bathroom was poor but the shower was good ;) Also be aware that the water is RELENTLESSLY HOT !!!
Both bedrooms were of a reasonable size however a wardrobe in the twin room would be appreciated ;)
The heating also works very well. The wifi is also very good.
