With the right amount of service attention this interesting and delicious meal was very enjoyable. We will return when we are in town again. The pork tacos, veg carpaccio, gazpacho, roasted pepper bisque were all winners. Great job!

My husband and I enjoyed a delicious and innovative meal at the Red Haven. Everything was fresh and beautifully presented. It was fun to share the dishes and try many things. We are good cooks and not easily impressed at many restaurants, but not the Red Haven. Not cheap but a real find.

I get that there aren't a lot of choices in the Lansing area, so people are starved for something better, something interesting. I would recommend a trip to Ann Arbor instead, where there are many interesting, different, high-quality choices, such as Zingerman's Roadhouse (best diner ever) or Cafe Zola (date night). And I hear this Red Haven place is affiliated with Zingerman's, which I find hard to believe because Zingerman's has always stood to me for real food -- not fussy, not gimmicky, just ultra-high-quality, comforting, and delicious. If Zingerman's does own this place, they should get their butts over here and do some quality control. The menu is just kind of weird. The waitstaff recommends three small plates per person, which would cost about $60 apiece without drinks, a lot of the food doesn't taste very good, and, if you order bread and then ask for butter, they will change you extra for the butter! I've heard people say that it's like going to a NYC restaurant here in East Lansing - yes, if that means to you trendy, pretentious, and overpriced.

Red Haven uses local and fresh ingredients to make salads, soups, and entrees you've never had anywhere else. I've had a strawberry salad and a harvest salad with pistachios and roasted turnips. I ordered their shrimp brochettes to accompany both, and both were delicious. The decor is minimalistic. The service is excellent and cheerful.

This is some of the most unique food you will get in the area. Started as a food truck, they soon moved to their permanent home. Tasty, unique flavors!
