A chateau, spoiled in part by PVC windows but with beautiful grounds near to Bayeux. Pleasant and cheerful staff. We stayed 3 nights and the food was excellent on the first night, on night 2 the choice was the same but without several options and the same on night 3 with even fewer ...... strange but true. Super wine list. Some problems with water and hot water. Breakfast ar €21 per person a huge disappointment. I could have been average but my generosity makes it very good..... probably best for only one or possibly two nights.

My husband and I stayed here two nights as part of a two week visit to France - Paris, Brittany, Normandy.

Positives: The grounds were lovely and the location convenient to the D-Day sites and the town of Bayeax.

Negatives: No one helped with our luggage, and the woman who showed us to our room allowed the outer door of the building to close in my husband's face. (He and I both were pulling suitcases.) The room was okay, but nothing special. The lighting was dim. The mechanism for changing from bath to shower was very tricky and difficlt to manipulate. The man who came to help me was officious and rude. We had a coffee maker in our room that used individual coffee pods. Only two pods (two cups) were provided. We requested a third pod and when we checked out, we found we had been charged two Euros for it! This when we were paying about $200/night, breakfast not included. The only breakfast available, billed as Continental, cost a flat 21 Euros, or about $25. Yes, I realize I had the "privilege" of staying at a chateau, but I don't think that should mean being ripped off for a coffee pod. Overall, a less than agreeable experience.

Peaceful location. Lovely well kept building.

We stayed in room 25 which had lovely views and a subtle green decor.
Bathroom was modern and fine.
Beds only ok, not enormously comfortable, but ok for one night.

The pool, spa and sauna area is extremely relaxing.

Lots of nice places to sit and enjoy tea or a drink.

We visited as a group of friends, but this place would be ideal for a romantic weekend as well.

Eating dinner at the restaurant is a must.

Breakfast was sadly below standard. Poor assortment of cereals, almost no fruit, weak coffee.

I still rate it 5 stars also considering the helpful staff.

Easily one of the best Hotels in the area. Didn't realise it had a spa until the last evening..ooops

Food particularly good. If you're looking for something higher end around Normandy then I couldn't recommend better.
