needed a pre Christmas break before the madness ,and booked 3 nights from the website ,having only passed through the area we loved the area, coast ,culture, cuisine ,
the hotel is beautiful even on a dank November ,blazing fire with canapés ,then well presented interesting local and traditional ingredients,6 courses of bliss, breakfast is wonderful ,leisurely theme ,local cheeses etc, pastries, good coffee and juices ,local yoghurts, staff were all great,
room was comfy warm with plenty of character,
just a short drive from any where its just a lovely place ,you can be in a city or rolling countryside within minutes,
we will be back.......

Room Tip: eat in the restaurant its great

second time we visited this place. this time with 6 people. two couples got superior room and one got junior suite. all were ok and very clean. we had drinks in the bar and then dinner in the restaurant. restaurant is quite good.
place can definitively be recommended.
it is also well located (not far from several places worth visiting in the neighbourhood).
staff very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: ask for a superior room because the "roucoule" rooms are quite small

Our Traditionelle room (no Roucoule was available for our stay) was in the attic on the 2e etage (3rd floor), accessible only by stairs — so don’t count on easy accessibility. They seem to set aside rooms on the lower floors for tour groups. Once you lug those bags up there though, the rooms are charming and well appointed, albeit sometimes difficult to navigate. The staff are friendly & helpful, and wifi works well. We always enjoy our meals here, and they offer a number of affordable wines and aperitifs. So, we continue to return. Saturday is market day in Bayeux (in the square up St-Malo), so parking was challenging and people were everywhere. On Sunday we drove over to Arromanches, which we really enjoyed, and on to Courseulles-sur-Mer, where we had lunch at a little mom & pop creperie facing the marina. The hotel is a great base for exploring the D-Day beaches. We highly recommend, despite the "interesting" rooms...

I chose the Ferme for relaxation, as I thought we would need it after touring the various DDay sights. I was not disappointed! Wonderful character and so relaxing. We stayed 2 nights. Both evenings we relaxed in the bar with a drink by the fire before walking across the courtyard for dinner. Wonderful menu, allowing us to relax and dine in the same restaurant 2 nights in a row. Centuries old character with modern bathrooms and friendly service!
