The hosts went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable and they obviously put a lot of love and care into maintaining the property and gardens. The house is a charming mix of 18th-century stone cottage, 1970's updates and modern conveniences. It has the feel of the French countryside but with all the basic amenities within walking distance(s) [boulangerie, pizzeria], lots of sights to see (Lascaux, Hauteforte Chateau and many others), and it is a great spot to explore the Dordogne region, one of the most beautiful in France. It is also equally nice to just hang and relax, enjoy the pool and garden, listen to the. birds, shop for antiques (weekends, mostly). I definitely plan to come back on my next trip!
