Visiting this museum is an incredible and moving educational opportunity. There is an outstanding collection of artifacts on display. The self-guided tour allows you to explore the ship from one end to the other. Be sure to take time and watch the video first because it helps you to envision how the ship worked as you continue on the tour. We spent 3 hours onboard and would recommend at least 2 hours.

What a great place to visit. It is so interesting for WWll buffs.. So much to see.. Be prepared to to climb in and out and up and down. You get to see crews quarters, Outstanding collections of WWll memorabilia... expect to spend a couple hours seeing it all. A great learning experience...

Highly recommend if you are in the area. It's self guided tour of the LST itself and the veterans memorial on the ship is very informational and moving.
Thank you to all who have served our country!

Enjoy a tour set at your own pace. Lots of memorabilia on board. Allow about an hour and a half to tour the entire ship. You need to be able to climb ladders to really enjoy the tour.

We enjoyed the self guided tour. The volunteers have done a wonderful job, more signs would be helpful telling about the ship. I found it difficult to follow along and read the brochure with the information provided, when there was so much to see. There is a ramp to get onto/into the front of the ship. Several of the displays are on the main level inside the ship. Touring other parts of the ship requires climbing up or down stairs, some of which are steep since you are inside a ship built long ago.
