We visited this restaurant twice during our stay in Kaysersberg and on both times the welcome and attention from staff was brilliant. The food was generous in quantity but very reasonably priced. It tasted delicious, so we went back!
The house dog kept us amused also as he visited each table in turn to see we were OK.
A must for travellers.

Le Kaysersberg is an attractively decorated restaurant with a varied menu, and four of us decided to have dinner one evening. The service was good, and the starters were tasty, but watch out, the tarts are very copious!
We were a bit disappointed by the main courses. Two of our group had steaks, and said they were rather chewy, with too much gristle; my choucroute was average but not very flavoursome. The sausages with the choucroute didn't taste any better than the vacuum packed ones in our local supermarket, which wasn't what I was expecting!
The meal was so filling that we decided not to have desserts. When it came to paying the bill, our waitress whisked the credit card away out of sight before we could stop her, then returned and said we couldn't pay by card because internet wasn't working. This seemed rather strange and unprofessional. She told us we had to pay by cheque or cash.

We visited Kaysersberg four at least our fifth time this week. However, it was the first time that we were ever able to get a table in this great little French restaurant. I can fully understand why it is always so crowded! The dining was outstanding, the prices very reasonable & the ability to sit out back on the terrace overlooking the little stream combined for the best dining experience we've ever enjoyed in Kaysersberg.

I had the Duck Breast with honey sauce. It was perfect in every way! The meal came out hot & steaming, the duck was cooked to perfection & was accompanied by a great salad & sautéed potatoes. It was almost more food than I could eat, but oh so good!

Others had the Duck leg with "choucroute" (sauerkraut), a Pig's Knuckle with Choucroute & a dish that translates to English as "Beef with Big Salt." Each dish was prepared to perfection. Even though members of our party protested they really hadn't wanted that much food, everyone finished every bite!

I knew the place must be good, but I had NO idea it would be THIS good!! Better yet, our total bill, including wine and a large bottle of water came to about $22 per person.

Though they offer the typical touristy "Tarte Flambée" (a flat-bread pizza-like dish), skip that and go for the REAL food! This will be the highlight of your day & certainly the only full meal you will need to eat.

We had a nice lunch sitting on the terasse overlooking the small river. Location wise I think it's one of the best restaurants in Kayserberg. I was however not impressed by the food. To be honest to the staff and chef we only had a simple tarte flambé and a goat cheese salad. The cheese on the tarte flambé was rather tasteless and so was the goat cheese on the salad. The service was however friendly and quick. We will probably go back due to the calm and relaxing location by the river even though the food did not impresse.

Kaysersberg is close to Colmar but if you want an intimate, romantic lunch, go to Le Kaysersberg in the small village of the same name. Here you will find a picture perfect setting with the restaurant sitting next to a small river that runs through the village.

This restaurant is efficiently operated by Patricia and Gregory Keil. The food is excellent, the service friendly and efficient, the prices very reasonable and the setting wonderful: it could not be better. You will not want to leave. Don' forget to order a nice wine with your meal. The restaurant has atmosphere, is super clean and tastefully decorated. Parking is not a problem.

We would recommend the Le Kaysersberg and will return. The village also deserves an exploration. This area is a great part of France that is overlooked by Americans, Australians and Canadians. Make it your secret place too.
