This is a basic hostel with low fares, I paid 20usd for a room with a queen bed size, Air conditioning and shared bathroom ( you could also pay 25usd for a private bathroom and AC). The room is basic with a tv and a little table. The customer service is great, the responsible didnot mind waking up at 5am to open the door for me and was very friendly. If you want to take a good sleepnigth this is the hostel to go for.

The staff at Tia Mia went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and were super friendly.

The rooms are basic but good value. We paid extra for a room with air con (still cheap) which I'd highly recommend. There's a very good kitchen for use also.

Tia Mia is a simple hostal that thrives because its owner is very smart and helps you navigate Leon and find all its best corners. The rooms are clean, simple, and well taken care of.

The rooftop deck is a great place to take in the ambiance of the city in a residencial area. It is a straight walk to the cathedral and central market of Leon.

Most of the hostels around Leon are basically
party hostels that don't sleep till the early hours in the morning. We're not interested in that so Tia Mia was a good outcome for my partner and I. It's nothing amazing but it does provide a kitchen, the staff are really lovely and the rooms were spacious. There's also a grocery store a few metres up the street. I'd come here for a few nights stay.

We came into Leon looking for a hostel that night, I'm not usually key on the main back-packers hostels as they are too busy and loud. Carolyn, the owner, found us at the bus station and invited us to look around. The rooms were clean and the price right, so we decided to stay.

Main take-aways
Its a little off the beaten track, not close to other attractions.
The beds were comfortable with good mattresses.
Only one fan for a private room with double beds, made for a somewhat hot evening.
The staff were friendly.
I was glad we opted for the private room as the hallway to the rest of the rooms goes right through the dorm. If you stay there, anyone coming or going will be walking through your sleep area, a little odd.

Not sure if this place is new, or just really small, but it was fine for a place to sleep after some volcano hiking.
