it registered on UNESCO as the World heritage place. Its very nice to walk around and good sight-view. It located in Suwon and has built in the time of Chosun Dynasty.

A great day out. Walk on the wall, exploring all the gates and watchtowers and/or take the dragon train. Plenty of things to see and places to eat.

The Hwaseong fortress is a monument to filial piety of one of the Joseon kings of the late 18th century. The walls of the fortress encompass some of the modern city which does reduce it's impact. However, the palace compound is well preserved. A guide is useful to bring the site's history to life. The palace grounds were the filming site of a historical telenovela that became very popular in Asia.

The Hwaesong Fortress is an excellent attracting to visit in the Suwon area. If you decide to visit here, plan on the better part of a day if you want to see the majority of the location. The wall itself covers a distance of four miles including a mountainous portion on the west side. The walking is generally very easy going as the well is well kept and then top is either covered in brick or consists of stairs. There is a 2000 Won fee to walk the wall and visit the centrally located reconstructed military headquarters. There are additional fees to take part in activities like ringing the bell at the top of the mountain or shooting a bow in the eastern portion of the fortress. Near the headquarters, there are numerous small businesses and eateries for those wishing to take a lunch break. Due to the fact the entire attraction is out-of-doors I would recommend avoiding a visit during the middle of summer or the middle of winter as the elements may curtail the experience. Even though I spent most of a day here I fully intend to return in the future.
