We love this place! The very first time we stayed, they didn't have our room type ready so they upgraded us to the concierge level. Needless to say, we're hooked now & can't quite imagine staying on the "regular floors" without the fabulous perks in the lounge. We love the vibe of the place, although the music piped through by the elevators can be really loud if you have a room nearby.

If you can afford the splurge, enjoy the concierge service with drinks, apps, & breakfast included. It is well worth it, especially when you consider the fabulous view over the river.

I've stayed at the JW in Grand Rapids several times and every time my family and I return, the facility and staff exceed our expectations. The key is the small touches, ranging from free wi-fi (surprisingly UNcommon at many major hotels these days) to luxury amenities in the bathroom. The rooms are large, comfortable, and immaculate with thick towels and heavy bed linens. You will find an extremely relaxing and comfortable room to rest or work.

The staff is spectacular; always looking for ways to help, whether it's a recommendation for a place to eat or something fun to do in GR.

One last word; if you enjoy good food, do not miss the onsite six.one.six restaurant. Often people think "hotel restaurants" aren't terribly good. NOT THE CASE HERE. The menu is carefully crafted and every ingredient is meticulously selected. Nothing is on the plate that does not add to the overall experience. More importantly, the staff is very generous and extremely informative about ingredients, their source, preparation, and wine recommendations. Don't miss this when you stay here!

Check in was easy and fast. We book the room with the city view which in the picture you can see part of the city and the river view. But we got the room with no river view at all. For the price I paid for It made me disappionted a little bit. The hotel is not busy I think it's easierly for them to give us a better view. Anyway, room is clean and has a spacious beautiful bathroom. Down side was when we got into the room it felt very hot (the air conditioner was off) and it took a long time to cool off the room in a summer day. So our sleep was on and off since it's too warm to have the blanket on.

We love the swimming pool. It's not too crowded and feel very bright and clean.

One more thing about the small in the hotel, I know it's supposed to make you feel like you breathe in the fresh air but for me I think it smells like a strong perfume. I had to cover me nose to walk though the lobby. My husband thought it was OK but admitted that it was a bit strong.

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you so much for choosing to stay the JW Marriott Grand Rapids - we know there are several options in the area and truly appreciate you staying with us. Thank you, also, for your very valuable feedback. We take this feedback seriously and discuss it at our management meetings.

With the extremely hot weather we've been experiencing lately, we know it is more important than ever that we keep our rooms comfortable so that you can enjoy your stay and get a quality night's rest. We will look into ways to continually improve this. We will also look into the settings of our scent - called "Sophistication" - as we want that aroma to be enjoyable and not overpowering. Finally, due to the shape of the hotel selecting a room with both a river view and city view is extremely difficult. The next time you stay with us, we recommend selecting one or the other so that we can give you an excellently-placed room where you can really take in the breath-taking views.

So glad to hear you enjoyed our pool! We love the brightness the many windows add so you can enjoy some of the outdoors in a climate-controlled environment. We hope to host you again soon!

At your service,

C. Smith

Friendly, efficient service in a beautiful, sparkling clean setting. Fantastic outdoor deck made hanging out a pleasure while kids were still sleeping in the room.
