“Too many Soccer players”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 February 2012

Over all this hotel is quite nice, well maintained and a quiet location. the weekend of february 11- 12, 2012 there was an indoor girls soccer tournament and 3 of the competing teams were staying at this hotel. We were told the teams would be kept on the first two floors but unfortunately for us there were many girls staying on the 3rd floor and right next door to us ws the PARTY room. Not a quiet night. We fully realize that this was not the fault of the mgmt but of the coaches and the chaperones. ( they were unconcerned with the girls behavior). While we like staying at this location, we will ask the next time if there are ANY sports teams staying at this location, we like a quiet nights sleep after a long drive to do business and visit with friends.

This hotel is back behind the Target. Signage leaves a lot to be desired in finding the property.

But, once you're there...Very comfy bed and spacious room.

Business center is not a true business center - had to ask the desk for scissors, staplers, fedex slips, etc. It's a computer & printer in the lobby/bar area.

Bar in lobby was busy in the evening. They offer several mtg rooms. Great continental/warm breakfast.

They offer an airport shuttle, too, if you need it.

I have to agree with other reviewers that the hotel is definitely off the beaten path. My wife and daughter stayed here because of it's close proximity to the airport and their shuttle to the airport. They charge you $10 for 7 days if you want to park your car while your away, which isn't bad considering what the airport would charge you for a week of parking. If their shuttle is not running when you get back to pick up your car they will pay for a cab. The room was very clean, bed was comfortable, water pressure/temp decent, and the pool area was very well maintained and stocked with towels. One bad thing was that the refrigerator in the room was on some kind of green-energy saver mode so you had to keep opening and closing the fridge for it to get cold. One other drawback was the front desk service. It seemed that no matter what time I went down to the front desk it took a couple of minutes for someone to come from the back office to wait on me, very frustrating to say the least. I would however stay here again if we ever fly out of Grand Rapids again.

Stayed here recently for one night while in town on business. I stayed here based on the Marriot link (I am a SPG supporter but they have no properties in the market). The hotel, while hard to find, was a pleasant surprise. Nice, friendly service at check in (even gave us bottles of water). The room, while nothing fancy, was larger and better than I expected given the price. The room had a full seating area, along with bedroom and large bathroom. Only real complaint was the water pressure in the shower (very little). Room rate included free Wi-fi and parking, as well as breakfast in the morning that was more the adequate. We did have a few drinks in the bar area at night and the prices were quite reasonable. I would say this hotel is a solid 3 star hotel, and I would stay here again potentially on my next visit.

We stayed here with my son's soccer team and I was surprised at how nice this hotel actually was. This was the first time staying at a SpringHill for us. The rooms are extremely comfortable and much like a studio with a partial divider separating the bedroom from the living room. The room also has a nice wet bar with a mini fridge and a microwave. The bathroom is large in size with the sink outside the door. The rooms, hallways, and common areas are clean. My only issues are you could hear the kids running up and down the hall way and the location. I believe there is another way in besides Hotel Ave which actually leads you through a busy strip mall location but we have only used this way and with it being the holiday season, traffic is a nightmare. Lastly I booked through Marriott and paid the price, which was a little on the expensive side. They did not have my type of room so I did end up getting a King room but she gave me a nice discount which more than made up for it.

All in all this was a very nice stay and I would gladly come back again.
