We've had SotE on our list of places to eat at for a long time, but finally had an opportunity to go as an early anniversary dinner. We had the grilled tomato toast, smoked octopus, and pork belly to start. My favorite was the tomato toast, but it is also prime tomato season. We probably could have stopped there, but split the pressed chicken as our entree based on the suggestion of the staff. Chicken is not typically something we order when we're at a restaurant like this, but it was great. We could definitely tell that it was not the kind of chicken that you get at just any restaurant. And the salt and vinegar potatoes and roasted Brussels sprouts were perfectly prepared; flavor and wellness. Finally, we couldn't skip dessert despite being uncomfortably full, so we took the chocolate peanut butter cake to go. We didn't eat it fresh but it was still awesome (with a cup of coffee for breakfast!) so I can only imagine that it would be decadent when served in-house.

Pretentiousness abounds with the $31 tuna special and other items described as "deconstructed". Dismantled indeed. And most of the meal left in the kitchen. A small piece of tuna lonely on the plate. Accompanied only by 1/2 boiled egg, one cherry tomato - cut in half - and a few 1/4" dots of wasabi. One glass of wine and one beer added another $17.

It was our first visit and we will be back! Bob enjoyed the Farmers Plate, especially the pork belly and delicious house made sausage. My Hippie Scramble was yummy with a great mix of seasonal veggies. Pay the $2 upcharge for the bacon biscuit. Good Bloody Mary's, too. Our server, Bennett, was friendly, but not intrusive. Great brunch spot ----- worth the hour drive!!

I had heard great things about this locally sourced restaurant and looked forward to trying it. It did not disappoint. The food is so fresh and the drinks are very creative. It may become my favorite place.

Salt of the Earth is a locally sourced, farm to table restaurant. The wait staff is very friendly and attentive. Food is expertly prepared and very tasty. It has been a "hidden gem" that is beginning to be discovered, so reservations are recommended. We will be back!
