Sleep Inn - Lansing North / Dewitt

I had an early morning business meeting in Dewitt, and chose the Sleep Inn both for location and value, as it was $20-$25 a night cheaper than the hotels further south off of I-69 or Rt. 127. I'd never stayed at a Sleep Inn before, as was a little worried that it might not be all that great. Thankfully, I was worried over nothing. The young lady working the front desk was very polite at check-in, as was the gentleman at check-out in the morning. The room was on the small side, but very well laid out, and furnished perfectly for someone traveling along on business (probably too small if I had the wife and kids with me), with a sufficient desk and a large TV (somewhat oddly occupying the same space, but workable). Very comfortable bed. The large, walk-in shower in place of a tub-shower was a nice surprise. Felt like being at home in the morning. Recently remodeled, and very clean. I hope the whole chain is like this.
The only disappointment during my stay was that with only about 5 cars in the lot on the night I stayed, they put us all in rooms next to one another, meaning I had the sound of next door's TV until nearly 3am.

Room Tip: If they aren't crowded, ask to be in a room away from others to cut down on noise.

I've traveled extensively and stayed in some very, very nice hotel properties, so when a block of rooms was reserved in this hotel for a wedding we were atteding, I had my doubts. After our stay at the Sleep Inn in DeWitt, I am no longer such a hotel snob. From the first phone call to make our reservation to our check out, the staff let us know how very much they appreciated our business. Michael is a great host, extremely helpful and eager to please, with a wonderful sense of humor. He seemed to always be on the property taking care of things. Unfortunately, we don't recall the name of the young lady with whom we spoke on the phone and again during our stay, but she, too, was super-friendly. The property was recently renovated and is very clean and appealing. Our room was quite small, but those beds and pillows are SO comfortable! We were very pleased with the overall appearance of the room as well as the comfort factors. We had lots of friends (over 12 other couples) staying in this hotel for the wedding/reception and everyone raved about the cleanliness of the rooms, comfortable beds and awesome staff. This was one of our more pleasant hotel stays in quite some time. We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: There are "suites" with fridge and microwave that offer a little extra room. We would def...

Been staying here once every three weeks for almost 8 yrs. They just did a nice remodel and it is very warm and comfortable. I've been coming so long I am on a first name basis with the manager Mike and two desk people Mark and Ophelia. They are great people and very helpful. Nice breakfast and you can use the Powerhouse Gym across the street for free. Internet is fast and its close to everything. Great stay for the money.

I stayed here for business, it was the best value around Lansing, all of the hotels were pretty crowded and expensive as there was a MSU football game that weekend. The hotel was just renovated, my room was brand new with new carpet, bed and fresh paint and pictures on the wall. The bed was really comfortable, the carpet felt great. The only one issue is they are still painting the hotel, so you could smell the paint a bit when you were in the hallways but once in the room you didn't smell it anymore. There are some food options pretty close, but if you want to go to a mall or anything its a good 15-20 minute drive away.

The man at the counter was very stereo-typical calling our motorcycle a Jap Bike and he would never own one because he had been a Marine! We found this extremely rude of him, especially him being in the Corp. He should keep his ethnic comments to himself!! We would not recommend this hotel to anyone!!
