We stayed here for a wedding. The hotel itself is new, clean, and modern, but a tiny bit chintzy in decor. Our room had a king bed and was comfortable, with decent sheets and a good size flat screen TV. The bathroom was clean although I thought the shower was a bit small and had rather low water pressure. The towels were also a bit rough. The hotel had a sky bridge to the casino which is convenient. The hotel staff did a pretty good job of checking for room keys as part of security at night. We didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on the food.
The neighborhood right around the hotel was nice if you didn't go too far away. There were some nice restaurants and a couple of dive bars within walking distance. It's also right near the Greek town people mover station. Overall, if you have to be in Detroit it was a decent hotel and we'd stay there again if we had to come back. Our friends booked a package with their flights and got a much better deal on the room rate ($85 vs $159) than we did with the wedding block. That might be the way to go for this hotel.
